Time to climb atop our division
Maybe it’s just because it’s our division but, I literally despise Reid, Harbaugh and especially Payton. Tired of all the talk about how great of coaches they are. Our ineptitude to hire competent coaches who make good football decisions is Mark’s fault and has only helped solidify our basement dwelling.
Time for some real hope and change. We aren’t the only team in our division anymore without, although early and still unproven, a Qb that can actually lead this team to wins. To the playoffs. Hopefully soon, a Super Bowl. The others have had success because of having that Qb, especially KC. If Bo hadn’t gotten injured, who knows, they may have had their Cinderella moment. Mendoza should be better than at least him. Sure, Nix has the mobility to extend plays with his legs and is a threat to run on any given play. Personally, I’d rather a Qb that doesn’t rely so much on scrambling to be successful because those guys don’t tend to hold up well over the long haul. I’d rather a higher IQ guy which we have in our rookie.
Gonna take a couple more years to put the pieces in place, including depth but, it really looks like we’re finally headed in the right direction. Time to start climbing to the top of at least our division, get to the playoffs by any means possible and be done with being last.

the raiders have improved bg time...kc has been slowly going down and will accelerate down this yr with new secondary and patrick injured, denver minus nix for games, more running, strong defense neutral, san diego should improve the most but and i say should with an asterix cause you never know how that team will show ...oline improve big,rb improved, defnse still strong...the rest is more of the sameraidersince63 wrote: Mon May 18, 2026 11:03 am For me, it's a 2 way street because it calls for accountability from both sides of the ball...if the offense can be more consistent and sustain longer drives instead of so many 3 and outs, it will help to keep the defense fresher instead of being winded by half time.
As far as our division, I don't think it will be as strong as it has been in recent years and we will be better. KC is certainly not the same, and SD is erratic, and Denver should be about the same...considering all of this, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities that we could go 3-3 in the AFC West this year.
i can see 3-3 this yr

I think the Chargers will surprise a few people. They had both of their starting tackles out for most of last season and along with the new OC, I can see them having a good season.mstrbass2000 wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 7:15 am the raiders have improved bg time...kc has been slowly going down and will accelerate down this yr with new secondary and patrick injured, denver minus nix for games, more running, strong defense neutral, san diego should improve the most but and i say should with an asterix cause you never know how that team will show ...oline improve big,rb improved, defnse still strong...the rest is more of the same

The Raiders have improved Big Time? I question this conclusion. We have maybe improved on paper. We have not improved big time on paper or in reality. I like the moves and the direction but until games are played, we are nothing yet. I want to see us get competitive before I will say we are ready to "climb atop the division."mstrbass2000 wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 7:15 am the raiders have improved bg time...kc has been slowly going down and will accelerate down this yr with new secondary and patrick injured, denver minus nix for games, more running, strong defense neutral, san diego should improve the most but and i say should with an asterix cause you never know how that team will show ...oline improve big,rb improved, defnse still strong...the rest is more of the same

This^^^...it's gonna take us a while to climb out of the huge hole we dug ourselves into over recent years. Yeah, we drafted the QB that most everyone wanted but he still has a lot to prove on the field though he appears to be the guy we've been hoping for. And we'll be working with a rebuilt offense and defense, as well as management.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 10:03 am The Raiders have improved Big Time? I question this conclusion. We'll be better this year because.I think we've got a good foundation in place but we still have a long way to go

Nobody thinks we’re going to the top of our division this year but we are definitely improving. There isn’t much comparison to the team we put on the field last season to what we now have and it starts at the top with the guys running it.
Every team goes through changes yearly, and having players get older is a thing. Kelce, although I believe he has something still in the tank, is a prime example. He just isn’t the same player that strikes fear in an opposing team anymore but he will get his catches, yards and touchdowns.
We on the other hand have obviously made it a point to get younger and faster. That too is a thing. I don’t care if it’s on paper or not, it’s hard not to see we have improved. Chances are, the ‘Hawks won’t defend their Superbowl title simply because there are so many good teams in the league.
But yes, it’s only on paper til we prove it. I’m not gonna be pessimistic because all you can do is draft and pick up solid pieces, then coach them up. This is how you start digging yourself out of a decades old cluster to at minimum compete and slowly get yourself towards the top. Tough to win a championship against all teams if you can’t at least start thinking about winning your division.

Well Graham was on the sideline in 2026; where he was in press box for 2024 and 2025….
Not really sure why Graham was kept on as DC when Pete Carroll was hired as HC; was Carroll force to have Graham as DC when he was hired as the HC by the front office…
Another thing is that Pete Carroll was more of DC coach; I think he had DC jobs in the past….
Another thing is that Raiders have to give Kubiak a three year plan; if we really have a bad season this year he need to be back in 2027…just that the raiders have become notorious for firing their HC quite quickly…

Well, for the first time in many many many years, maybe even a couple decades I’m excited for the season start. I’m doing my best not to drink the Kool-Aid. I will be happy if we’re competitive team this year and anything ever being competitive a bonus. I do like watching coaches press conferences. He’s calm. He’s cool under pressure and he has the answer you wanna hear. That being said will just have to wait and see.
