Ok, so using your logic because there was mass genocide during the holocaust then a particular group of beings doesn't equate in value to another particular groups? Speak for yourself. I have four dogs and I value their lives much more than many human beings I have met. It's not about legal justification and nobody said that it was where the dog was concerned.

The simple fact is that he took two lives with a poor decision.

Does Ruggs deserve a second chance? I believe so, and maybe that second chance is not on the football field and maybe it's not appropriate yet. The legal penalty is between he and the state of Nevada. The moral penalty is between he, the girls family and whatever higher being he believes in.

Not so fast. I have two Golden Retrievers. I cannot count how many people I have met who say their Golden was "the best" dog they ever had. And most are currently walking a small dog because they don't want a dog over 25 pounds. Or - they have one of seemingly countless versions of a Doodle due to the shedding issues. Having said that, I am into black and yellow lab retrievers too. My sister had two yellow labs in a row. .

Here in the Bay Area every other mutt is a “doodle” as they were the fad starting about a decade ago. They just don’t do it for me.

We had three Australian Shepherds through out our marriage. The last one passed in August 2019.
