Just wish Bob gave us notice that he was closing the site down or maybe explain to us that he didn’t want to run it anymore and that maybe somebody else could take over if that was doable; because you do build a rapport with other members of that forum over the years; I know the fight were mental as nobody was really policing it….

agree 100 pct, i was in contact with bob for yrs on twitter, especially about him missing payments tot he host...i tried to contact him to see if he was in trouble or needed to drop paying it, i was willing to take it over but the dude ghosted and never messaged back...hope he is doing well and nothing bad happened

I wish I had come up with that nickname for him. His ex wife and the sweetest of women's family came up with it. Apparently they would visit and he was very unpredictable when it came to mood and words. My own experience reflects some of that as well. But this is not the time nor thread to go into all that.

Divorce is WAY underrated...peace & tranquility above all else!

Never divorced but solitude is way underrated and I believe a certain amount of t is a requirement weekly or monthly including the main weapon of mass distraction in the form of a smart phone.

Whether it be “watering time” in the yard, 48 hours in the woods or whatever floats your boat…….solitude is essential. I didn’t really consciously think about it until I was in my late 50s. Today I try to actually plan and practice solitude daily. It does take some practice

No way Bob gives the site to another to run. He would have exposed too many secrets. He sold the platform once earlier with the understanding that he continued to run it. But the shit he was pulling behind the scenes were secrets he was not going to reveal. Things like spy accounts and watchdog accounts. He built up quite a bit of intel on certain members over the years.

I was a moderator over there. Like most sites, the Mods had their own forum that was not viewable to the general population. We had around 8 mods give or take at different times. We were actually the guys asked to make sure the trolls were removed. We also tracked banned members to ensure they did not sneak back on. It was not a ton of work, but some worked harder than others. But we got to see a lot of shady shit from the site owner. Ah well, another day another fake dollar.

Again, he was never going to let someone else have it. First, it was his so he was not giving it to someone else. And second, there were too many really shady things he was pulling. I know of way too many shitty things he pulled. He actually had fake accounts on rival Raider sites to monitor if anyone was bashing him personally anywhere else. If he found one and they had an account on his site, he would ban their ass just for taking a shot at him elsewhere. He was always very insecure.

I can’t remember if it was the old site or right here at this one in the very beginning but I remember a person whose handle was something like “Vegas Raider” “LasVegasRaiderfan” or something like that. This was long before the Raiders even entertained moving to Vegas. But he used to get so hot he would throw internet rage fits telling everyone he was a MMA badass and wanted folks to fly to Vegas to fight him. He was banned accordingly but it was funny while it lasted. Some threads of the past need to be pinned on some sort of internet Hall of Fame lol

The way back machine can pull up the old site and you can find some gems, but you have to really search.
