Just saw Billy Kirchen and Band at a 100-seat venue in Sacramento. Look him up if you don't know him - a very good Telecaster player. I saw him with Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen a few times back in the 1970's as well as recently.
Will see Bonnie Raitt soon in Sacramento in early June.
Bought tickets to see the Doobie Brothers and Santana - outdoor venue in August.

It's a juxtaposition of the Rolling Stones’ Brian Jones with the tragedy of Jonestown...whatever, the band has been around for over three decades, I just think their music has a good sound.

Good to hear that about the Doobies. Even though they are from San Jose and I lived there when they arose, I have never seen them. I saw them on the Late Show a few months ago and I was impressed and said I would see them if they came around. And, my wife is a fan of Michael McDonald who is with them on this tour.mstrbass2000 wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 11:04 am YOUR GONNA LOVE THE DOOBIE BROS ...saw em last yr and they were awesome, close the concert with 8 giant hit songs in a row
Santana —I was lucky enough to see them in a small club at South Lake Tahoe in July of 1968. There were maybe 30 people in the place. This was a full year before they exploded into national prominence due to their Woodstock performance. I have not seen them since about 1989. IMO, Carlos deserves our respect as an innovator.

Doobies - first concert 1976 Memorial Auditorium - Fantastic! show. Was in upper deck with my buddies, didn't bring any smoke, didn't need to, we were in the cloud at the top of the auditorium most of the concert, until we moved down to the front rows near stage after their 1st encore, they did at leastRunOverByHubbard wrote: Wed May 27, 2026 9:34 pm Good to hear that about the Doobies.
