DJ Glaze is curious.
In college he played in the wide zone but tested very poorly in the 3 cone drill at the combine.
That drill is the main metric for zone systems.
At 6'4 DJs arm length is a full 2 inches longer than Crosby's who stands at 6'5.
His pff grades last year were also very poor.
Pass, a 63.3 giving up 45 pressures and 10 sacks.
Run, a 54.9 and I remember him getting zero push.
Maybe he'll benefit from having one or two TEs next to him. Idk. He's young23yo and raw with great reach.

I don't see how anyone can be comfortable with right tackle at the moment. I think that is our most pressing need, even over NT and FS.

Think it was Boknows who posted that Grant played left tackle at college, and doesn't want to move him to right tackle, and I'm beginning to agree. No more experiments, and I'm not sure Miller has another full season in him. Glaze is fine as a back up, but we need another tackle for the right side.MexicanHulk wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 2:38 pm I’m definitely more optimistic on those players because of the film study done on them. Plus their track record of actually playing well (Burford/Meredith in the NFL for a full season & Rogers in college & the 6 games as a pro). & I’m not saying they’re guarantees or anything but, it’s an overall good situation to roll with. Meredith/Burford are absolutely very good as backup options.
OT if Grant is viewed as a RT by the coaches, then I feel solid about the tackle room as well. Again, Glaze was ok under solid coaching &, bad last year under crap. So I’m ok with him as the backup, not the 1st stringer with nothing behind him. Grant with Glaze as a backup, I’m good with. Plus I’d still draft a developmental OT on day 3 so, Glaze is more of OG backup than OT. Then the guard spot is even better. To me, OT isnt really a need. Unless you’re gonna release/trade Miller next year. Then you wanna groom someone for next year &, have Grant+rookie as the starting OTs.
So yeah, im just more confident in the talent evaluation of Rogers/Grant as starters &, Meredith/Glaze/Burford as backups than you are &, not as pessimistic.
At some point you’re gonna have to believe in the talent+coaching you brought in &, draft other positions, filling out the roster. Not keep overloading one spot.

Yes it was me and I stand firm that I wouldn't play a guy that never played RT at RT with a rookie QB incoming.raider_kin wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 3:56 pm Think it was Boknows who posted that Grant played left tackle at college, and doesn't want to move him to right tackle, and I'm beginning to agree. I, for one, am not comfortable. Glaze was below average and Grant is a complete unknown. Big focus on fixing the line and the biggest hole at this point is RT.BoKnows81 wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 3:26 pm I don't see how anyone can be comfortable with right tackle at the moment. Does it have to be done in the first three picks?RunOverByHubbard wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 4:44 pm I, for one, am not comfortable. Glaze was below average and Grant is a complete unknown. Big focus on fixing the line and the biggest hole at this point is RT.

The issue is that depending on how the board goes, no one we draft at RT will be ready to go week 1. Im all for BPA and if we dont address RT then look at a veteran free agent.

Says who? It's not like they will have stiff competition at that spot. If we draft a 2nd rd RT, I'd bet money they will start week 1.DanKD wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 6:03 pm The issue is that depending on how the board goes, no one we draft at RT will be ready to go week 1. depth on the oline is always a priorityRI RAIDER wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 1:12 pm I did say OL and there are question marks. Sure we got our #1 target in Linderbaum (and he was a must have). Sure we will have better coaching. However, JPJ is an obvious injury risk (as much as most of us love him). Rogers has a very small sample size. Hopefully he pans out but I do not think he has shown enough to make him some sort of guarantee. Glaze is an obvious weak spot. The trenches are how to build a team. Considering how much we have invested in offense, I would hope that we spend that 2nd pick on OL. I will not even comment about Meredith or Burford because you are far more optimistic in your assessment of them than I am. Again, I hope you are right, but I do not see it. I think OL is priority 1.

Even top tackles taken in the draft have a steep learning curve and take a season or two to get comfortable.

There have been many tackles that have switched sides, there have been many many many O linemen that have completely switched positions & been successful. If the coaches had been training him at RT for the past year &, believe he can play there, then I’m good with that. If they feel he’s a player that can’t make the adjustment to the other side, then yes, the team needs to draft or trade for a RT (preferably a day 1or2 type talent). It’s that simple. But we’re not sure if he’s been training at RT & is ready for that or not.BoKnows81 wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 4:16 pm Yes it was me and I stand firm that I wouldn't play a guy that never played RT at RT with a rookie QB incoming.

Sure, but typically those guys that have switched at least have some experience on the other side. Grant does not. But yes, we'll know after the draft what they think about RT.MexicanHulk wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 7:06 am There have been many tackles that have switched sides, there have been many many many O linemen that have completely switched positions & been successful.
