Frodo: "But he was destroyed! Sauron was destroyed."GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Sat Apr 18, 2026 6:42 pm Nice to watch, but I’ve noticed something. I mean, nobody else deserves the slogans synonymous with Big Al’s Raiders, but they don’t ring quite as true anymore. We need to win to earn them back. I’m tired of the cringe when I see them now.
“Commitment to Excellence”. No. It’s been 24 years since we hung a “W” in a playoff game.
“Just Win, Baby”. Not too much. Last consecutive winning seasons was 2001 and 2002.
“Pride and Poise” . Nope. Only thing that’s held firm in the “Pride” department is the Team Name, Team Colors, and Team Emblem. “Poise”, not even remotely.
“Once a Raider, Always a Raider”. Decades of bad drafting has a major impact on this one. Hell, it’s more a threat of embarrassment for Raider Nation.
“Team of the Decades”. Ah man, smh. This one should just be mothballed until further notice. Maybe I’ll be alive when we could use it again.
”The greatness of the Raiders is in its future”. Big Al began saying this in the early 80’s, somewhere after Super Bowl XV (1980), but before our domination in Super Bowl XVIII (1984). Since that Super Bowl our record is 289-349.
”We would rather be feared than respected”. “The fire that burns brightest in the Raiders organization is the will to win”. Nope.
Hoping Mendo/Spytek/Kubiak/Brady can fix this shit while bridging us from ”The Era of Incompetence” to a non-Davis run Raiders organization. We’re right at the precipice. For the Love of Raider Nation and Football, let it be so.![]()

Any chance we trade the pick and pursue Arch or Dante next year?

What a wonderful idea, and after that the entire FO should soak their ballsacks in buckets of chum before skinny-dipping in the Pacific.Be_Easy_25 wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 5:48 am Any chance we trade the pick and pursue Arch or Dante next year?

The only way that would even have a chance of happening is if Mendoza wasn't in this class. With that happening, good luck trying to get someone to move upBe_Easy_25 wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 5:48 am Any chance we trade the pick and pursue Arch or Dante next year?

Why would we wait on Manning?Be_Easy_25 wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 5:48 am Any chance we trade the pick and pursue Arch or Dante next year?
If his last name wasn’t Smith not one person on this board would be talking about him as a top tier prospect, right now we’re talking mid round pick with what we have seen
The only reason the draft media seem to question Mendoza now is because he is far to safe, boring & straight laced, they see him as a high floor low ceiling guy when they want to gloss & glaze over the raw high ceiling type prospects simply because it gets them views
Draft Mendoza & build the team around him

It's possible that a year from now neither Arch nor Dante look like top QB prospects - it happens a lot that the top prospects heading into the college season have a rough year and don't develop as hoped. Mendoza is absolutely the pick and should be the pick. Don't overthink it.

I'm sure the reason Mendoza is working with Griese is because the Raiders told him that was the guy they wanted him to work with to prep him for his Raider career. No mystery. He's the pick.DanKD wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 7:10 am Ive put up with so much as a raiders fan but if they trade the pick Im done with them.

Kubiak only took this job bc of Mendoza. Let's not get it twisted.

neus, allard, beck all were touted the season before as top prospect going into 2025 and fernando emerged as #1 and those guys had crappy season and are now looked at as day 2 picks or later
arch reminds me more of danny dime then a manning

Even beyond the issue of whether these guys develop, you can’t guarantee you’d be able to get one even with a bunch of 1sts in the bank.chucker wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 7:02 am It's possible that a year from now neither Arch nor Dante look like top QB prospects - it happens a lot that the top prospects heading into the college season have a rough year and don't develop as hoped. I’m sure the jets are running into that reality right now with us and Mendoza. Congratulations - you have the 2nd overall, 16th overall and 3 1sts next year…. Still can’t move up 1 spot and get the QB.

Between the two of them, if I had to choose, it would be Dante. I realize Moore is older than Manning but overall, I'm not that impressed with Arch.chucker wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 7:02 am It's possible that a year from now neither Arch nor Dante look like top QB prospects - it happens a lot that the top prospects heading into the college season have a rough year and don't develop as hoped. In fact, if his last name was not Manning, we probably even be having this convo.
