exactly, aoc has cement feet and is a slow processor he got a decent arm and throws a nice ball but in kubiak's offense you gotta be able to make quick reads or move around and extend playsOaktownonly wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2026 8:12 pm O'Connell has cement feet. He moves just like Kerry Collins.

Was he given proper development instructions by coaches and/or a solid running games and/or a decent OL since in Vegas?mstrbass2000 wrote: Sun Apr 12, 2026 7:47 am exactly, aoc has cement feet and is a slow processor he got a decent arm and throws a nice ball but in kubiak's offense you gotta be able to make quick reads or move around and extend plays
If the first 2 QBs on any team goes down and ends up being forced to go to their 3rd string QB, they are likely in big trouble, anyway.

Is it not that hard to figure out that the reason AO12 should not get a pass from multiple systems/bad coaching is bc his severe limitations can not be coached! Good Lord with that logic.

aoc is gonna be aoc in any offense...sure we could keep him as a qb3 but id rather grab a younger qb on a cheap cheap rookie contract vs paying aoc 3.9 million

Maybe we need a new several page thread on Cody Lindenberg. AoC is now inconsequential to the Raiders, move on to something else.

Yeah I’d be disappointed if we spent a 4-5th on a 3rd round QB when we have so much work that needs to be done.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2026 8:33 pm Day 3 to UDFA.
Here’s a few guys that may fit Kubiak’s scheme.
4-5 range which I don’t think is happening.
Drew Allar Penn State 6’5”
Cade Klubnik Clemson 6’2”
6-7 range. Mmmmmaybe.
Athan Kaliakmanis Rutgers 6’2”
UDFA range. Makes the most sense if it were to happen.
Mark Gronowski South Dakota State 6’2”
Luke Altmyer Illinois 6’2”
Obviously nothing set in stone. FO may be fine with AOC. Just like they might be fine with the WR room and our OL guys drafted last year. No way of knowing until the draft.
I’m not opposed to taking a flier in the 6th or 7th or UDFA but I’d wager that they wouldn’t be better than AOC if we needed one of them to play this season. With Cousins leaving after this year and Nando becoming the starter, AOC could be back as QB2 next year. He seems to be a team first guy. Not rock the boat. He’s been serviceable when played. 2m (assuming we cut or trade him and bring in QB3 around 1m) isn’t netting us much.
I think people are too worked up over his contract and play. If he’s gone whatever, hopefully we can get something. If he’s back, I wouldn’t freak out if he had to enter the game. Personally, I’d look for QB3 that’s a better fit to sit and learn next year not this year.

Yeah, we took 2 QBs in the later rounds last year...neither made the team. And yeah, we have much more pressing needs at other positions than another QB#3.TrueFan420 wrote: Sun Apr 12, 2026 8:14 am Yeah I’d be disappointed if we spent a 4-5th on a 3rd round QB when we have so much work that needs to be done.

He's had the actual experience that Carr fans said Derek had. O'Connell has had three different HCs in three years and now will be on his fourth. That doesn't at all indicate that he's starter material, but there's no doubt it hampered any growth he may have experienced otherwise.raidersince63 wrote: Sun Apr 12, 2026 7:32 am That's also something that seems odd...as you alluded to, why do other players from last years roster get a pass because we were so poorly coached and managed, but AOC does not?
The guy has had his first 3 seasons overseen by "ineptitude" each and every year...no one should be expected to be evaluated based on that.
By all accounts he's never been anything but a quiet, hard working player. I don't think he has the talent to be a starter but that's no reason to hate on the guy. And hell, after a three year ordeal with this organization, I'd like to see him get a shot as backup with another team.

6 pages on a 3rd string qb that's probably going to be cut at some point. Gonna be a long offseason!

Lol...yea. I meant #3. I got used to him at #2. I'd still rather have someone a bit more fleet of foot, even at #3.

You mean like Carrbage is inconsequential to the Raiders now.... but he still gets tons of attention? Like that?DanKD wrote: Sun Apr 12, 2026 8:12 am Maybe we need a new several page thread on Cody Lindenberg. AoC is now inconsequential to the Raiders, move on to something else.

I don't think he's as horrible as others, I do however think his production could be closely matched by an udfa. The dude has a 20/17 td to turnover ratio if you include his fumbles and has taken 35 sacks in 21 games and can't move. Just glancing at stats, Jake Browning and Tyler Huntley have similar career statsDr Death wrote: Sun Apr 12, 2026 8:42 am Lol...yea. I meant #3. I got used to him at #2. Yes, AOC could be replaced but again they can redo his contract or perhaps put him on the PS if they choose to go with only 2 QBs instead of 3. But, yeah, I just don't get the uproar over who our QB3 is.Hellbound wrote: Sun Apr 12, 2026 9:03 am I don't think he's as horrible as others, I do however think his production could be closely matched by an udfa. And this time next year, Cousins will likely be drawing the same wrath and vitriol.
