Basically a 10 or 11 mil one year deal…by far the best available backup to be…
They want him to start for a while he has put up good numbers…Fernando comes out balling then we have a nice backup for one year.

I don't need someone's wife, brother, nephew, roommate, gardener to tell me Cousins isn't a good QB. He's not. He never was. At his best, he was mediocre. Mendoza will be the better option for immediate wins, even now. There's not a doubt in my mind. I think the days of letting an early drafted QB sit are long gone. Esp one as ready as Mendoza. Which is why I'm a little puzzled with the signing. Bc to me, he will be backing up Mendoza, starting week 1. But flip side, everybody's man crush AO12 will be gone. Maybe we can even find a sucker to give us a half eaten cannoli for him.

The #1 overall should start right away. Tom Brady was a sixth rounder, him sitting behind Bledsoe made sense. Aaron Rodgers sat behind a HOF and he fell to the bottom of the first round. Again, that situation made sense. It doesn't make sense to sit Mendoza just to do it.

Getting told you're not playing just because you're a rookie or you have to compete with a vet who played terrible the year prior can ruins one's confidence.

Nope, let him get used to the NFL. Doesn't have to be all year, but give him a chance to acclimate. I predict about 6 weeks in he will begin to get significant plying time.

PS this is not going to do anything to his confidence, he way too mature and intelligent for that. Hell, I bet he doesn't even want to start week 1 (although I'm sure he will tell the team he is ready to)
