That seems excessive to lay out 40 grand each way for a private chartered flight. You can get a 1st class round trip ticket for 1500.Attyla wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2026 3:20 am Flying him through DC is a huge red flag. That should have been done via private jet. They had plenty of time to make that arrangement.

teams own private planes, and they flew him into DC rather than Baltimore. You mean to tell me with the lag time they could not get their shit together?Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2026 1:33 pm That seems excessive to lay out 40 grand each way for a private chartered flight. Seems that was what they were doing, giving themselves more time to hammer out that Hendrickson contract.Attyla wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2026 1:47 pm teams own private planes, and they flew him into DC rather than Baltimore. You mean to tell me with the lag time they could not get their shit together?

I'll state it again as I have stated repeatedly, the whole thing was premeditated.chucker wrote: Tue Mar 17, 2026 4:57 pm The fact that neither coach nor GM greeted a guy they were supposedly trading 2 firsts for suggests that they weren't really trading two firsts for him and it had nothing to do with a physical exam.
At least the whole episode refreshed his attitude about continuing to be a Raider. I've moved on. I wish we were playing the Ravens though, because that would be something to see. He always gives 100%..... but might find a way to give 127% for that game.

You mean before they even made the “trade”? If so, I can’t see it happening that way, too much trouble for no logical reason.16 to 88 wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2026 6:18 pm I'll state it again as I have stated repeatedly, the whole thing was premeditated.

I agree. I think it is way too much to suggest that. I think the Ravens were actually in on Crosby and then as time rolled on before the physical they saw an opportunity to pivot to Hendrickson and get a lesser player but not give up picks. In the end I think the Ravens valued the player and draft value they ended up with and don't give a shit about the people or relationships.Jeevo wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2026 8:34 pm You mean before they even made the “trade”? Don't trust logic here. Sometimes people do things that make no logical sense but based on emotions. Just a belief/theory and of course I could be totally off base. To this I am reconciled. Either way whether it was premeditated or otherwise it still stinks. And keep in mind, this is now the 3rd time the same team has done this. Once it's an accident, twice it's a pattern.Jeevo wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2026 8:34 pm You mean before they even made the “trade”? Semantics?...really?...for NFL teams, league rules are the law.Attyla wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2026 3:18 am His comments really do not give us more clarity into who was informed first. I think it is implied they told the Raiders first. And there are no legalities here, just league rules.

no it is a collective bargain. Two organizations that agree to a set of rules. And if a rule is contested they arbitrate. The penalties are agreed upon before it goes into effect. A law is legislated and voted on. Laws are officiated and the penalties are far more widely determined. Unlike the collective bargain, they can actually come to an agreement outside the guidelines the laws determine. In many ways, the collective bargain is far more structured than a legal system. And the collective bargain is exactly like it sounds, it is the collective that agree on it and those rules are for only for a short duration and then have to be agreed upon again and again. And to further differentiate the two, the collective bargain can be superseded by the legal system but the legal system cannot be superseded by the collective bargain. And it is not the league rules, it is actually the collective bargain since the league rules only apply to the league and owners whereas the collective bargain is the agreement between the league and the NFLPA. There is a subtle but significant difference. The league's rules can be set by the NFL to govern that organization only. But the rules that the league impose on the owners are set by the NFL to only affect the owners and not the players. For instance, in baseball, Marg Schott was banned from any involvement with the very team she owned. This was not a rule, nor did it have anything to do with the collective bargain. It was an outside committee that made the decision. They did that because they did not have a hard and fast rule against owning certain war pieces or from skewing and flat out lying about history. That could not happen in a legal system. It would require creating a law that states you cannot own certain things or say certain things. That falls under the law of public opinion which is not a law but sometimes has even far ranging and lasting effects. For instance, Kanye West has not been jailed but has faced significant penalties that were publicly generated for certain comments and generally being a dumbass.raidersince63 wrote: Thu Mar 19, 2026 5:48 am Semantics?...really?...for NFL teams, league rules are the law.

I look at it this way. Ravens gamed the system so for all intents and purposes, Crosby was never really traded so nothing has changed outside of the fact that Crosby looks to be reinvigorated as a Raider with a chip on his shoulder. The draft picks would’ve been great, but the reality is they were never coming, so this actually ends up as kind of a win for the organization as they get to keep a great player without the distractions of the past few seasons.

I do want that team to implode though. I am never a guy that wishes injury on another player and Hendrickson has nothing to do with this other than signing a contract but I want him to experience Raiders level suckiness as a Raven.heavyD wrote: Thu Mar 19, 2026 7:00 am I look at it this way. I will be rooting against the Ravens every week. I may even root for John Harbaugh and the Giants just to spite the Ravens...... but I don't like Harbaugh or the Giants so that might be tough.Attyla wrote: Thu Mar 19, 2026 7:03 am I do want that team to implode though. In Maxx's podcast, he stated how they got him a private plane to fly back to Vegas. They were sure able to get that one lined up in a jiffy.Attyla wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2026 1:47 pm teams own private planes, and they flew him into DC rather than Baltimore.
