If Hendrickson wasn't available Maxx Crosby is a Raven right now. It's that simple. At least after the events that unfolded I'm sure teams will be much more thorough in how they handle trades

It wouldn't surprise me if the Raiders have already requested that. Regardless, I think it's extremely difficult to prove that they didn't find something that concerned them more than the scans they had already seen, because he has 7 years of wear and tear. Pushing the issue likely wouldn't get you anywhere but it would make a statement, and might put the Ravens on notice.

I think the only way to truly prove that they acted in bad faith is to find electronic communication to support that.

In the meantime, the team moves forward with the players acquired along with Maxx. Maybe the trade deadline brings a trade opportunity that they think is worth pursuing.

Does good or bad faith matter?

My understanding is the Ravens could have backed out for any reason they wanted whatsoever. They may have used the knee for cover but they didn’t necessarily need to.

There either need ps to be no reporting on trades until both sides communicate the trade to the league office OR, some penalty for agreeing and then backing out before the trade is communicated to the league.

I imagine the Ravens could give a shit less what anyone thinks...they got what they wanted & Raiders got f[raiders_icon]cked...it's a moot point now.

Yeah, Most doctors don't like being put into a situation where they have to second guess another doctor.

But I do wish the NFL would do their own due diligence on this matter and if they feel that ANY sort of Baltimore BS was determined, they can make rules/adjustments for such behavior going forward.

So most teams that fit that profile are teams likely picking from picks 25 to 32. We were lucky as Ravens had a bad year but considered a team in the hunt. I dont see any other teams in the hunt that are picking near 15 or below. Its Not logical to think we will get the value of two 1st round picks near 15. Only a Fans logic would be that obsurd

How do you know they did not. The medical records would be available to the league per the CBA. And doctors honestly don't care if someone else reviews their evaluation. It is a medical opinion by definition and consults and second opinions are the norm. It is actually in my wheelhouse so I know a thing or two on this one. The system was used to reverse course, but the system is set up to protect teams. The soft tissue injury was not healed, we know that. The trick is to say would it be healed in time for the season or the long term prognosis for the life of the contract. But the Ravens obviously used the rules to their advantage but a doctor would not risk their license to block the deal. If the report showed that there were questions of whether the knee would hold up for the life of the contract that is enough. They were able to document enough to kill the deal. Shady yes, harmful to future deals, yes, but they did enough. Because it is not about next season, they had to have enough confidence for the life of the contract. And it was the Cowboy's team doctor who did the evaluation. And he is a world renowned knee specialist. Hard to question his medical opinion. Specialists with his reputation are normally well respected.

Again, I am at a loss to know how you can change the rule. No deal is done until the physical is passed. Maybe a tweak to limit the time between the trade and the physical. But it appears on the surface that while shady, they lined it up correctly as far as who did the evaluation and how it was done. All that I can find to question is how long it took to get the evaluation.

There is no point other than you go about your business a certain way. Bankruptcy laws are often abused and most reasonable people frown upon that regardless of the rules. If the players physical was indeed the issue and the only issue the Ravens GM should just say its not personal it's business and dispense with the crocodile tears.

because the physical is the one thing that matters that can block a trade.

The athletes would continue to use him as long as he remains a good surgeon, that's what the players care about, not how he performs un his side hustle. Finally, his god complex would make him impervious to criticism and attacks on his reputation.
The Cowboys are not his employer. Side Hustle? God complex? Sounds like you have an axe to grind.

Not sure if the NFL is through with this whole fiasco...but I'm not 100% sure either way, so just to be sure, I'll just ride the fence for now...just felt the need to say something.

Oh I agree, but the physical is the one thing that can break any deal. And they cannot do the physical before they do the deal. It is just one of those things. If we were talking a player who would cost you 50K, ok no problem. But the players are 30M or more with some of these deals. Sucks that we got bit, sucks they could do what they do, but again, I am at a loss to figure out how you can legislate a rule that would have avoided this. Specialist doctor with a great reputation and his opinion would be evaluated by the team to make or break the deal.
