2026 Draft - Raiders & all teams (April 23-25)

Unread post by RaiderFan1 »

Obvious Mendoza #1 no consideration of trading that pick.
But who you got picks 2 - 4 thats going to help Mendoza.

#2 Raiders should be able to select WR Chris Bell or WR KC Concepcion with our early 2nd.

#3 I forget who it was, but someone here mentioned that the best pure dominant RT coming out of college could be got in the 3rd. And stated hes played his whole career at RT, and not being moved around the line.

Sounds like solid gets

Id hope the rest of the draft is building the trenches, with maybe 1 DB in there

Who else you like ?

If at least one of those DT’s is quick enough to play the end when we’re in a 3-4. I wouldn’t want to spend a 1st or 2nd on a guy that has to come out on obvious passing downs.

The draft makes it interesting though with the depth of massive DTs. It’s pretty shallow at the Edge position.

I’m not 100% sure of how Leonard will build it. Lookin’ forward to finding out.

There should be a run at OT. Luckily with the 14th pick we won’t miss the party

Closer to the draft I will set up a betting thread for the 14th pick, and I will add a couple props as well.

The top gaurd in the draft according to CBS sports is Olaivavega Ioane (ranked 15th) from PSU.
He is best suited for a power/gap system after some research.

He is often referred to as an earth-mover, he specializes in displacing defenders to create massive running lanes. Beyond his raw power, he’s a surprisingly agile athlete who moves smoothly to the second level and locks up linebackers. Overall, he’s a rock-solid, high-floor prospect who projects as a Day 1 starter.

The next best gaurd in the draft is Connor Lew ranked 42.

Is Gaurd a target at 14?
My opinion? Yes, if Loane is available run to the podium.

In 2025 Kubiak used Power/gap 39.1% of the time.
He ran zone concepts 57.4% of the time.

While zone is the "bread and butter," Kubiak's 2025 Seahawks offense successfully incorporated more gap runs than traditional versions of this scheme.
He is expected to maintain this versatility in Las Vegas to adapt to his new roster.

1st and goal from the 2
Play action behind Linderbaum and Olaivavega Ioane?

Or maybe Jeanty will run it up the gut.

They rank according to position they played in college. I think there are a few guys who played tackle last year who will move to guard at the next level. That happens not infrequently every year. The guy I like who can do that is Proctor. And I like that he can play both which is valuable to teams

Proctor will be long gone.
Id be against putting a tackle, square peg, at gaurd, round hole, myself.

T->OG has its pros but for me, just select the player who plays the actual position.

At 14 we'd be looking at the 3rd or 4th tackle if it's the route they go.

If so, I'm taking Olaivavega LG all day.

Proctor is often mocked after us. He could definitely be there. Tackles get converted to guard successfully all the time. Spytek even talked about this last year that they did it a lot in Tampa

A lot of teams draft only tackles to slide into as guards in the pros. Proctor will be there if we want him. I prefer Freeling though.

I think Freeling is gonna go a lot earlier than expected. Maybe even before Fano and Fauigoa. I wouldn't be opposed to him at 14.

I am running a simulator at least three times a day this time of year.

This has been a consistent first four rounds for me the last few days. I know it's just a simulator and Styles is likely gone by 14 but I would not mind these picks in the first 4 rounds.

1. Fernando Mendoza-QB
14. Sonny Styles-LB
36. Kayden McDonald-DT
67. Connor Lew-IOL
102. Sam Hecht-IOL

Lew and Hecht are centers. Would be wasted picks now. And Styles will go like 10 picks earlier than 14.

Freeling should definitely be considered at 14 if he’s there.

Maybe Vega is the better talent? Assuming he fits the scheme (interesting dialogue on that here, thanks for keeping us informed boys), I can understand going talent over positional value.

But assuming we have them similarly rated, and he is a scheme fit himself, Freeling would be a good choice. Having our T spot figured out on paper would be a huge win. Yes, we’d still need to find an answer at G, but we can be a little more creative at G if he’s in between a good C and RT.

Converting a center to guard works. The advantage is, one could learn to backup Linderbaum until his contract is up and then hopefully slot in at center

wr1 or huge nt/dt at pick 14 ??? ...currently the top 3 dt/nt are rated around pick 20-25 ...we can grab a wr like kc or cooper in the 20's to early 2nd so unless a stellar talent falls to us we may just trade down and get xtra picks and still fill our needs with young explosive talent

Can one of the players currently on the roster be moved to the RT position? Rogers. Grant. Can Glaze be the RT now that there is a competent coaching staff?
