Free Agency thread for Raiders and league-wide
Free agency opens March 11. CBS Sports has their top 50 ranking. No Raiders on the list. I am surprised at a couple rated high - Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones. Lots of wide receivers

Merry f*n Christmas.
Day 1 of free agency is a doozy.
Dean is a great pairing to put behind Paye, who's better against the run. Dean is a phenomenal blitzer.

Freezing cold takeDrDUne wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 8:30 pm I’m sure I’ll get lambasted for this but
I don’t personally believe this free agency period will be as monumental as some do, even with the cap space.
Spytek doesn’t strike me as a “push the money down the road” type of contract structurer. Meaning, I don’t think the free agents will have huge signing bonuses with very low cap hits this year. The money always dwindles faster than you think, not to mention the funds left in the coffers for draft picks, future signings, rollover, etc.
They have money to spend, I’m very interested to see how they structure the terms of these deals.

So let me get this straight. Spytek and his team addressed . . .
- The O-Line
- WR room
- Two players on the D-Line
- Two linebackers
- Two defensive backs

And every single player is fairly young and can be a part of the resurgence in 2027 and 2028

All this activity plus Mendoza plus the possibility of the players in the 1st three rounds of the draft, is this moving the needle to possibility being competitive in 2026?

I think more competitive. But this year will be all about Mendoza getting acclimated to the prosRickRyb wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 3:16 pm All this activity plus Mendoza plus the possibility of the players in the 1st three rounds of the draft, is this moving the needle to possibility being competitive in 2026?

None of these excep for Koonce are 1 year signings. All young guys who can build around along with the draft picks.vtraider wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 3:17 pm I think more competitive. But this year will be all about Mendoza getting acclimated to the pros
I wonder if after seeing this and the draft Maxx has any regrets

Again, remember that most contracts announced today are not as rich as originally claimed.
Also there is no way to know how much cap space we have left, because the structures of the deals can impact that dramatically.
