Free Agency thread for Raiders and league-wide

Free agency opens March 11. CBS Sports has their top 50 ranking. No Raiders on the list. I am surprised at a couple rated high - Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones. Lots of wide receivers

Carter has been in the league 3 years now and he hasn't displayed near the fear that some thought he could become.

Sure he's had a blip or two. But nothing crazy over the top that would ruin his career. I'd be comfortable with having him on the team if the cost isn't over the top.

Yea until he spits in someone's face again and gets suspended when we need him the most. I'm not giving 1st round capital up for a guy like that. You wanna talk 2nd or later, I'm probably in.

I agree. I don't get the love he gets. He is a ST player and a mediocre receiver. People act like he is a speed guy nobody can stop. I see Tucker and he is already on the
roster. I feel his salary will be way more than his worth

....last year, we saw him get booted for spitting on someone, and his behavior after hardly seemed like someone who even took responsibility for the fact that he had again proven himself to be a bonehead.
....now maybe this, in addition to other stuff we know of where he did stupid stuff , and then showed no sign of having any grasp of his own stupidity, might not be enough to scare some away, I just can't get past the fact that a pretty smart GM is willing to part with the guy not that long after having gambled on him when others were scared off by his nonsense.
....it is hard to not wonder what else we are not seeing that has made him available, and how that would be a fit with a team trying to turn things around....and especially when it involves us giving up something pretty valuable in return.

His contract is up after the 2026 season.
I don't want to pay this dirt bag. I dont want his anywhere near the team.
Strong pass.

Completely agree. There are a few speedsters like him that can be had in the draft. I'm not overpaying for a guy that we either already have on the roster (minus the return ability) or can get later in the draft this year.

I wouldn't be opposed to passing on him either. The dude is a top D lineman in the league so there is a point where the reward will outweigh the risk.

I wouldn't say I have zero interest in him but Im not over paying for him. As for Pierce, give Doubs for roughly the same production at half the price if reports of upwards of 28 million are accurate

I mean sure. If they go that way ill buy in bc there's nothing we can do but are we paying him 60-75M after this season?
If not hes a one year rental and we need more than 1y rentals.
I feel Philadelphia is dumping him for whatever they can get before he embarrass' thier team again.

Our defense is going to be a 2 year build at minimum. We changed to the 34 and we currently don't have players who fit the scheme and he's not the guy id start building a defense with. My 2c

I think giving up draft picks for the privilege of giving a character concern a bag of money when Howie Roseman is willing to part with him, despite immense talent........ well that seems like a risky proposition. And it has nothing to do with Vegas being the Raiders' home.

Exactly, no more rent-a-player. We are rebuilding.
Eagles want to part with him.

I didn't think of that aspect. It usually isn't a good sign when a good player is no longer wanted by the team. There can be other reasons but, I think the reason is fairly well known in this case.

Other people's problem children need to go to teams like the Chiefs.

Again, there is always a point with a player like that where the reward outweighs the risk. Carter was a big reason the Eagles won the superbowl in 2025.

He def has plenty of red flags though. Not to mention, he's not really a good fit for us anyway.
