Maxx is gone so we dont have to worry about his feelings any longer
...yeah, the obvious point was that it is reportedly not just Maxx.

I'm not understanding the Maxx hate. I was indifferent to him staying or being traded. He's gone and I wish him well... until he plays us. Other than that, I like/d him for his dedication and work ethic.

The article said he was threatening assistant coaches that they would lose their jobs if they didn’t listen to him lol. Maybe it’s made up, maybe it’s not. I just brought it up because it’s always something with this team it seems, not along ago we had a dude teabagging teammates.
Hopefully the article was bullshit.

I don't either. Yes, he could be a bit of a diva. That said it's a different era than the one many of us grew up watching, players have access to social media and live in a distracted world.Dr Death wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 5:12 pm I'm not understanding the Maxx hate. I have had a few get off my lawn, "Howie Long never did television interviews shirtless" episodes but I have learned to accept the times and players for what they are. In that respect compared to players such as the Sanders kid, Maxx has been pretty humble. Plus-he did play the game the right way every game and every down.
Tooz partied all night and was hung over in piss poor shape sucking oxygen in Denver during the 77 AFC Championship game. Maxx never pulled that shit yet Tooz is supposed to be a Raiders legend while it's good riddance Crosby? Yeah, ok.

Not gonna lie, bummed to see him go. Nothing but respect for the guy. Gave 110% every snap even on a lot of teams that he probably could’ve given up on by November.
I’d also say, I don’t get the animosity some fans have like he just broke up with us. It’s not actually clear what specifically led to this. Everyone assumes Maxx demanded a trade privately but that’s unconfirmed. It’s entirely possible he would’ve come back.
My unconfirmed opinion is that it was probably more fluid than predetermined he was gone. New coach, new-ish management. It’s entirely possible we set a really high price uncertain we’d get it… basically said if we don’t get it he stays… but if we do get it, it’s too good to pass up.
Again, opinion only. Maybe Maxx was going to force Gus way out if we didn’t do this now… but the video kind of seems like he was open to a change of scenery but not insistent on it. By most fan accounts, it’s not as if we gave Baltimore any sort of discount.

was a shame we never saw him on a competitive team with us good luck to him.
pretty much the worst defence in the league lost its only player, yay.
we all know the raiders are cursed with first round picks, i wonder which poor bugger gets his career stymied by us.

Looks at Avatar? Checks out. (not a fan of Leeds though)charlieinblack wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 5:56 pm was a shame we never saw him on a competitive team with us good luck to him.

Looks at the correct usage of "bugger" on an American football site? Checks out.
Verdict? Definitely one of the Lads.

I can't say I put a ton of faith into a Mike Silver story. He loves himself and hyperbole.LayneStaley wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 5:26 pm The article said he was threatening assistant coaches that they would lose their jobs if they didn’t listen to him lol. Lamar has performed pretty poorly in the playoffs when its time to be at your best.NoClapsPlease wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 9:59 pm Maholmes does the same thing. It’s okay to buy time if you’re able to make a defense pay over and over again.
His injury history is the only weakness to his game.

Thank you Maxx for something to root for these past few years. Wish you all the best and hope you do retire a Raider when you hang em up.
I for one am not gonna miss watching Alt manhandle Maxx twice a year. Glad he gave it his all, but the dude isn't elite and that's going to be more obvious next year when there are no more double and triple team excuses.
So Maxx is due for a new contract soon....Maybe playing the long game, eating a trade for two firsts and then doesn't take on a new contract with Baltimore, and comes back on a new deal. Doubt Baltimore can afford to tag him. I don't care personally, but that would be some funny shit.

Any chance we play them this year?
