In another year Maxx is gonna want yet another new contract. Even though he already has one. Trade the dude. I think at this point I'm leaning that way. We're but Raider supporters having conversation. I dare say, the Raiders will be just fine without Maxx Crosby

We have won 3 games with Max in the last 2 years.

It's hard for some to grasp but it's entirely possible for a team to improve after trading a really good player. Raider fans just have beaten wife syndrome with negativity. It's understandable but f[raiders_icon]ck. You could swing it to where you ultimately get 4-5 players for Maxx. They've not won shit with him. In the games he's missed I don't recall the defense falling off a cliff either

Would we have been Just fine without Howie after 83, trading him for a few picks? Without Terry McDaniel for almost the entirety of his career, as well as Tim Brown, Wiz, etc... since no super bowl victories followed drafting them, there was a lot of excitement there and good play and good times without a superbowl victory. I want Maxx Crosby to be part of what comes next.Goodtimes333 wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 8:37 pm In another year Maxx is gonna want yet another new contract. Even though he already has one. Some guys you just shouldn't get rid of and I think Maxx is one of them. Mack should also be right here enjoying his twilight as a lifelong Raider welcoming our newest QB and whatever he may bring, he should never have been traded.

If Dallas really offered 12 & 20 they should have snapped there hands off Maxx at his age aint worth what Parsons was worth
If anything i’d say a 1st & 2nd this year would be more the value especially when i see what the Rams paid for McDuffie
12 & 20 could lead to Vega Ioane & then Peter Woods or Caleb Banks i mean 12 & 20 is 2 starters on anyaide of the ball, i’d even be tempted if you got those pucks to package them to move up for Sonny Styles

I do not believe the Cowboys offered their 2 firsts this season. I think they would want to do a first pick next year (where the worth of the pick loses a round because of present day value). Also, I think the Cowboys may want to attach a player to shed some salary.

When trading for future picks, the general rule is that the value goes up a round. So, a second round pick this year would be worth a first next year. This flows from the economic principle that an asset in hand now will gain value over time so delayed considerations would have to account for that lost opportunity.RI RAIDER wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 5:13 am I do not believe the Cowboys offered their 2 firsts this season. Heard that Dallas tried to lowball the Raiders same with Bears. Seems like teams want Crosby but aren't willing to part with two 1sts. Raiders dont need to trade Crosby unless they get their asking price. There's this belief that since the Raiders aren't good they owe it to Crosby to just give him away even if it below what they think he's worth, that was the premise of that Silver article. Max may have to pretend he never wanted to leave if nothing ends up happening.CWood24 wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 2:13 am If Dallas really offered 12 & 20 they should have snapped there hands off Maxx at his age aint worth what Parsons was worth

I read a mock this morning that had Dallas taking Mansoor Delane (CB) and Keldric Faulk (DL) with their first rounders. I like both of those prospects but they absolutely aren't a higher value than Maxx Crosby who is a sure thing. I'm on record wanting to move Maxx but I'm glad Spytek isn't willing to just give him away for nothing.
When I frame the trade as Maxx for Delane+Faulk, I want even more compensation. It confirms for me that if a deal gets done it has to include two firsts.

When I hear about draft pick compensation I look back at prior drafts to see what players were actually taken at the particular draft slot(s) in question. I know that not every draft is the same and this year's is a bit weaker in the first round than some others - but I've also heard that about other drafts that turned out ok. Looking back at prior drafts takes into account that you're taking the bad with the good of the draft in an evaluation of value and there's lots of both every year.NoThanksSir wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 6:40 am I read a mock this morning that had Dallas taking Mansoor Delane (CB) and Keldric Faulk (DL) with their first rounders. I started looking at 2020 - that was Ruggs and Chaisson at 12 and 20. Ruggs was a good pick in terms of talent, but circumstances made it a bad result. Chaisson was a bust as a draft pick, who later helped other teams.
The next season was Parsons and Kadarius Toney. A massive hit, and a miss. Then Jameson Williams and Kenny Pickett - for a team without a QB need, the more relevant pick would be McDuffie after Pickett. 2023 - Gibbs and Smith-Njigba. 2024 - Nix (Bowers after Nix) and Fautanu. 2025 - Booker and Barron.
It's not an "answer" for value, but IMO it gives a better representation of potential value in the picks than our assumptions about how future draft picks will perform. Results are obviously very mixed. Huge hits and huge misses along the way.

By that logic Bowers and Jeanty are expendable too.

Sure, I think that's a good way to view it as well. No matter how you slice it there is a built in risk to draft picks that you can't quantify with just picks, which is why framing it with actual players shows how valuable a guy like Maxx really is to the teams trading for him. I'm not sure any of those player combos even with the benefit of hindsight would get a Maxx deal done. You need more players/picks to offset the value of an elite pass rusher, and to offset the chance of not hitting on every single pick you get back.chucker wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 6:56 am When I hear about draft pick compensation I look back at prior drafts to see what players were actually taken at the particular draft slot(s) in question. I am saying that a first next year is worth a 2nd present day value. This is why the Cowboys would not want to give up both firsts this season, diminishing the Raiders return.Trainnvain wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 5:50 am When trading for future picks, the general rule is that the value goes up a round.
