If they get 12 and 20, you have to be taking Ioane at 20. With 12 and 37 go DT and ROT. In FA get a C, LB, FS. I would use Crosby's money on Hendrikson to give a 3-year fix there that would kick the can down the road to the 2028 or 2029 draft. You would have to pay him 10-15% more, but the guy delivers 50% more sacks than Crosby, so based on past performance, it would be worth it. That still leaves us with 7 more picks including top of the 3rd and 4th round and the Jags 4th also.

Sounds like JT is backpedaling a bit.

I don’t think Ioane will be there at 20. I hope someone gets desperate and offers us their late 1 and another 1 next year for 12, kinda like the Falcons/Rams trade last year.Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 9:54 am If they get 12 and 20, you have to be taking Ioane at 20. So get rid of Maxx because he is too old for a rebuild and give more money to an older player who missed 10 games last season to back and hip injuries?Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 9:54 am If they get 12 and 20, you have to be taking Ioane at 20. If we trade Maxx just get younger and build this the right way.

This is not surprising at all for JT. I think it really does indicate that it's going to happen if he's willing to admit it.

You're not trading Maxx for an older player. You're trading him for an older player + several picks. You're missing the whole point of the trade. We're not doing it for cap relief and even if we spent the Maxx picks on pass rushers you'd want a veteran stop gap until they come along.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 10:21 am So get rid of Maxx because he is too old for a rebuild and give more money to an older player who missed 10 games last season to back and hip injuries?

The whole point of trading him is to get younger with the picks. Don't waste the cap relief on an older injured player. It makes no sense for the Raiders or Hendrickson. Only way something this stupid happens is is if Al were still running thingsNoThanksSir wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 10:28 am You're not trading Maxx for an older player. I wonder if Philly gets involved to f[raiders_icon]ck Dallas. Jordan Davis sure would be nice in our new 3-4.

I really don't know what Hendrickson is looking for beyond one last payday, and we have cap we are required to spend. I disagree that it doesn't make sense for us. Signing Hendrickson makes more sense if you flip Maxx for draft picks, not less. I think a better version of your argument might be, let's pursue Jaelan Phillips hard because he's younger and we have the cash to do so. But ultimately in FA it comes down to if guys want to play here. So we need to add some kind of veteran pass rusher as a stop gap to Maxx if we took a bigger swing and missed. Hendrickson fits that bill.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 10:30 am The whole point of trading him is to get younger with the picks. Don't waste the cap relief on an older injured player. He is looking for his last big payday. He isn't a stop gap vet. If he doesn't get multiple years guaranteed he will get a huge payday from a contender. I don't see any way he fits into the Raiders plans nor do we fit into his. We have the cash to do better in the long runNoThanksSir wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 10:35 am I really don't know what Hendrickson is looking for beyond one last payday, and we have cap we are required to spend. At his age he'll get 2-3 years guaranteed, which aligns perfectly with our window. We have 5 years to spend like sailors before giving Mendoza his first extension. Like I said, I'd rather pursue Phillips if he wanted to play here, but he will have options. But to suggest Hendrickson makes no sense, I think is patently incorrect.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 10:51 am He is looking for his last big payday. He isn't a stop gap vet.
