I admit that I am quite surprised by the amount of dislike/hate that Crosby is getting. Don’t know what else you want from a player other than 100% effort and devotion to his job both on and off the field.

Even better, but why does Spottrac have him as a 35 million dead cap hit this year?chucker wrote: Wed Feb 25, 2026 5:54 pm If Crosby is traded this year, it's a $5 million dead cap hit. If he's traded in 2027 then it's a $0 dead cap hit.

Since everyone wants to trade our best player for draft picks, why don't we trade Bowers and jeanty too. Could get a boat load for them!
And then!! right after we select Mendoza with the 1st pick in the draft, the Raiders turn around and trade him for a whole bunch of draft picks since his trade value will be so high!!

Dude, too emotional. Apply 1% of your brain and you’ll come up with the difference in Maxx and the other names mentioned.ELCAraiderfan wrote: Wed Feb 25, 2026 8:29 pm Since everyone wants to trade our best player for draft picks, why don't we trade Bowers and jeanty too. Maxx is fantastic on the field. Could stand to get a few more sacks, but probable HOF career. He’s just been a bit much off the field. The basketball tantrum was f’n childish. He’s too old for that shit.Jeevo wrote: Wed Feb 25, 2026 7:25 pm I admit that I am quite surprised by the amount of dislike/hate that Crosby is getting. He’s become the hot girl who moves the breakup closer every time she talks.
Reminds me of that quote, “It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to talk and remove all doubt.” Except no one thought of him as anything but a bad ass football player.

The primary reason to trade him is his age, his injury history and the current state of the roster and our low likelihood of competing in the near term while he still is valuable. The disrespect (read: insubordination) and drama queen stuff are secondary reasons that contribute to distraction, bad cultural influence and Crosby fatigue. If we only take a cap hit of 5 million by trading him, then how is it not a great move to trade him that would net us at least a 1st and a 2nd and sign Hendrikson for the same money while giving up our 4th round comp pick and only incur a 5 million cap hit in doing so? Which would you prefer? Crosby + 33rd pick in the 4th round + drama. Or Hendrikson + 5 million less cap space + extra 1st round pick + extra 2nd round Pick + no end of 4th round comp pick + less drama?

CBS has a new story about “blockbuster” trades that could be made and lo and behold, our guy is one of them:
Maxx Crosby may be the biggest name to move this offseason after his relationship with the Las Vegas Raiders fractured at the tail end of the 2025 season. To his chagrin, the franchise shut the star pass rusher down despite his desire to play out the string. That decision may prove to be the catalyst that sends him out of Las Vegas. From the Raiders perspective, moving on from Crosby could make sense even if he has been the fabric of the organization since he was drafted in 2019. The club possesses the first overall pick at the 2026 NFL Draft and will likely use that selection to bring in Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza to pair with first-year head coach Klint Kubiak. Given what star pass rushers are going for on the trade market and Crosby not fitting in with the Raiders new timeline, they could look to sell high on the 28-year-old.

Because if he's released it's a $35 million dead cap hit - because the Raiders would still have to pay his guaranteed 2026 salary. In a trade, that obligation shifts to the destination team. The cap sites are useful, but take some time to learn to read them.Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Wed Feb 25, 2026 8:04 pm Even better, but why does Spottrac have him as a 35 million dead cap hit this year?

I do not think there are many who dislike/hate Max. In fact, I think most of the board appreciates his 100% effort 120% of the time. However, if you think that we are still a couple of years away from being legit (I do), then it only makes sense to capitalize on the value of Max while he is worth something in an effort to help with the reconstruction of the team. I think the FO is playing this perfectly (I can not believe I am saying this) and keeping things on the down low. They know that they do not have to trade Max and their silence only makes more teams interested and the ultimate package go up. Its a nice problem to have (keep one of the best in the business or bring your chips to the cashier's window).Jeevo wrote: Wed Feb 25, 2026 7:25 pm I admit that I am quite surprised by the amount of dislike/hate that Crosby is getting. Word out now is the raiders will trade Crosby for two first round picks and player; thinking if a good offer comes along; he gone…..
Really need a few more draft picks to build a good team under Kubiak for the Super Bowl run….
I remember a guy on another forum that was run by Bob before it folded; forgot his name but he always painted a great picture about the raiders every off-season on how they are going to win lots of Superbowl and how everything is going to great and then he disappear during the season and come back every off-season…what a character

I remember him, it was a weird handle. He always said in Al we trust, in Reggie we trust etc. Damn, can't remember his name.SuperRaider wrote: Thu Feb 26, 2026 6:06 am Word out now is the raiders will trade Crosby for two first round picks and player; thinking if a good offer comes along; he gone…..
