Free Agency thread for Raiders and league-wide
Free agency opens March 11. CBS Sports has their top 50 ranking. No Raiders on the list. I am surprised at a couple rated high - Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones. Lots of wide receivers

Allgeier is going to make bank next year and probably start somewhere…that’s why he won’t be in Atlanta because they can’t pay him and Bijan…
I hope they roll with Mostert or draft someone..
Just need a guy for some plays..not big money

No they def need someone better than trash ass Mostert. Kubiak is gonna run the ball and we need a good compliment to Jeanty.HesterLayes wrote: Thu Feb 19, 2026 4:52 pm Allgeier is going to make bank next year and probably start somewhere…that’s why he won’t be in Atlanta because they can’t pay him and Bijan…

I still hear Marcus Allen talking the other day about sharing snaps with another running back. He explained the need to get into a rhythm as a game progresses that you can’t achieve if you are sharing touches with another.
Yes you want a backup RB if your primary gets injured but he isnt a fan of “running back by committee”

I like algeier as a 2nd back. I’ve seen estimates of a $3 million contract for him. Decent runner and good pass blocker - he won’t hurt you if he’s in there. If he’s taking touches away from Jeanty, then that’s a coaching problem. Jeanty needs to get the bulk of the work - he’s built for it.

If he were to get 2m or less, I’d be less angry but, still pretty unhappy. I think overall he’s below avg. There’s much better routes to go down for backup RB. That’ll be same price or cheaper while providing much better upside.Attyla wrote: Thu Feb 19, 2026 4:00 pm I see 2M as his top level salary. Ugly yards is a good thing. But he does average over 3 yards per carry.
I still think some teams will view him as a possible #1 type RB &, pay for that risk. Probably in the 4-6mil per range.

If he can be had day 3 I’d go with black from Indiana. Not specifically because of Mendoza with that connection doesn’t hurt either.

Dean likes this move.
Dean, Stokes and Mafe are my wish list for the D. I know we need more.

Another nice attribute besides his pass blocking…Attyla wrote: Thu Feb 19, 2026 4:00 pm I see 2M as his top level salary. Ugly yards is a good thing. But he does average over 3 yards per carry.

Don’t mind the idea of that giving Genty the occasional breather. Always liked his angry running style.

I think he gets more like 6-7. I would jump on him for 3

If we're looking for a cheap compliment to Jeanty, I'd love to kick the tires on Pacheco. He'll be another year removed from that fibula injury, is still young, and hopefully wouldn't cost too much. I feel like his speed and skillset would benefit from all of the outside zone runs Kubiak likes so much.
Ehh he is a few concussions away from scrambling what brain he has left. I just don't see that as a good recipe for a starting center in Kubiaks system.SuperRaider wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 4:42 am Have not got a clue on what the raiders will do with JPJ; but when he put in the center spot under Norv/ Scott Turner time when they were OC…he actually did pretty good; have not got a clue why Pete Carroll thought he was a better guard than center; and really cannot judge JPJ on last season disaster….so hopefully JPJ come into this season totally fresh and named the center for the raiders in 2026…

I have been reading a lot of speculation of us signing Watson. CB is a big need (after taking care of our shitty OL and WR). Resign Stokes (who said he loves the Raiders) and we would have legitimate shut down corners who also play the run well. Obviously, taking a Chief would feel good as well. I know we can not fix everything overnight and we have to take care of our offensive investments. CB is such an important position especially in a pass happy AFC West (if not the league).

He is a complementary back, 3.5 yards per carry is not a starter. Complementary backs go for 3M or less. That is, unless a team sees him as a starter. I don't. His rookie year was reasonable, but he was relegated to a back up role and that is where I see him. Maybe some hot OC sees more and will use him more but I don't think you can feature him.
