Here’s the scale FYI

image.png
His scores to that scale card seem off to me. The top 4 include Fernando aren't pro bowl talent (7.0)? Easily that imo.
I know a lot don't like Caleb, but he's one of the best prospects in a long time and doesn't score pro bowl talent?
Sanders is a pro-bowler in the 5th rookie season. <--- This sentence is true, but not to be taken seriously.

Via ChatGPT…

Here’s how Andrew Janocko’s offensive philosophy (quick-timing, rhythm-based passing built off a balanced run game) aligns with the **Las Vegas Raiders’ current personnel and the likely addition of projected No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza at quarterback — particularly under new head coach Klint Kubiak:

⸻

🧠 1. Mendoza Profile & Fit With the Scheme

📌 Mendoza’s Strengths

College scouting and draft analysis paint Fernando Mendoza as:
• A poised, accurate passer with strong pre-snap processing and timing — traits that are especially valuable in a timing-based quick passing system.
• Throws on rhythm with anticipation and accuracy, particularly on short-to-intermediate throws — which dovetails with Janocko’s focus on quick-game concepts.
• Comfortable operating from the pocket and delivering accurate throws into tight windows — another plus for rhythm passing and progression reads.

These traits suggest Mendoza is well-suited to a system that emphasizes rapid sequencing of reads and timing throws, rather than forcing off-script improvisation.

📌 Mendoza’s System Experience

While in college, Mendoza thrived in a system heavy on RPOs and 12 personnel packages (1 RB, 2 TEs) — spreading defenders horizontally and creating rhythm passing opportunities into intermediate and quick throws.

That’s a natural complement to an offense that:
• Emphasizes quick timing routes
• Uses play action off the run
• Creates intermediate-level shots once defenses adjust

This bodes well for Janocko’s blend of quick rhythm passing and staged progression reads.

⸻

🏈 2. Raiders Offensive Personnel & Janocko’s Scheme

📌 Weapons Around Mendoza

Las Vegas enters 2026 with some young offensive pieces that fit well with a timing-based, balanced scheme:
• Tight End Brock Bowers — a versatile target in intermediate and quick passing concepts.
• Running Back Ashton Jeanty — strong runner who complements play action and ground-to-air balance.
• Young wideouts like Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton Jr. provide potential in quick-game concepts but also underscore a need for more vertical threat depth.

These pieces fit nicely into rhythm passing concepts that Janocko emphasizes — tight ends and backs can win quick matchups underneath while the run game sets up play action and progression throws.

⸻

🧩 3. Coaching Fit & System Transition

🔁 Kubiak + Janocko

Klint Kubiak’s offensive philosophy is already seen as quarterback-friendly and built on simplifying reads with motion and structure, which helps young QBs transition quickly to the pro game.

Pairing that with Janocko as offensive coordinator (OC) means:
• Mendoza would likely get an offense designed to cultivate quick reads and short-to-intermediate timing throws — ideal for a rookie not asked to carry a highly complex burden immediately.
• Janocko’s emphasis on fundamentals (footwork, timing, progression reads) should help Mendoza acclimate to NFL speed while building confidence early.

This isn’t an Air Raid or vertical-only system — it’s designed to protect and nurture a young QB through structure and rhythm, which is often a recipe for success in Year 1 of a franchise QB.

⸻

🧠 4. Addressing Key Fit Considerations

Here are some important ways the fit lines up (and areas that will require support):

✔ What Works Well

✔ Mendoza’s timing and accuracy
→ Aligns with Janocko’s quick rhythm game and progression throwing concepts.

✔ Balanced personnel (TE + RB focus)
→ Perfect for play action off run and layered route combinations that help create space for receivers.

✔ Coaching philosophy
→ Kubiak’s quarterback-focused approach and Janocko’s fundamentals help set up a clearer progression path for a rookie big-armed QB.

⸻

⚠ What Needs Attention

⚠ Receiver depth
Las Vegas currently lacks a proven elite wide receiver corps, meaning Mendoza will often rely on tight ends and short-to-intermediate targets unless the Raiders add more outside weapons.

⚠ Offensive line play
While not cited directly, NFL draft chatter notes that Mendoza’s success in college came with relatively strong protection — NFL line play will be a crucial factor in Mendoza’s adaptation.

Both issues don’t inherently conflict with Janocko’s philosophy, but they do mean the Raiders will likely prioritize free agent additions or draft help to give Mendoza and the offense the best chance to succeed.

💡 Bottom Line: Andrew Janocko’s offense — with an emphasis on timing, rhythm, quick reads, and a balanced run game — aligns very well with Fernando Mendoza’s strengths as a poised, accurate passer. Under Klint Kubiak’s quarterback-friendly system, this combo could give Mendoza a structured environment to develop, especially in short-to-intermediate passing concepts and play action, while the Raiders work to add more weapons and protection around him.

My main point is none of these scored "Pro Bowl Level" talent.

Caleb
Hayden
Drake
Fernando
Really?

Caleb being one of the highest recruited in years couldn't get a 7?

Well, the "pro bowl talent" metric should be abolished for good.

Quit it. If anything Sheduer Sanders raised the bar.

The biggest hole in Caleb's game seems to be his lack of leadership. I do not know what goes on in the locker room but the optics on the field are terrible. The kid can spin it though.

One of things that impresses me about Mendoza is his presence. When he caught a helmet to his chin and shook it off like it was nothing.

Ever see that movie "Cinderella Man?" There is a scene where Russell Crowe (Braddock) get's absolutely rocked with a punch, his mouth guard gets knock to the other side of the f[raiders_icon]cking ring. Get's up, picks up his mouth guard and starts smiling at his opponent who gives him a you got be f[raiders_icon]cking shitting me look...

Caleb's biggest issue at the moment (aside from having an unlikeable personality) is horrible accuracy.

58.1% completion percentage put him at the bottom of league of starting QBs (I believe McCarthy and Sanders were lower, but both are technically first-year partial starters.) His throws are wildly inconsistent, sometimes insanely good and sometimes nowhere near the target.

The only player I can recall improving drastically from such accuracy issues is Josh Allen. Caleb is going to need to improve in the same fashion to have sustained success, in my opinion.

Well, sure.

When you’re standing at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and raise the bar past the top of the canyon it’s going to look impressive.
