Trade Maxx. Yes or No?
First off, Mods, if this can be squeezed into the “Maxx Crosby” thread somehow, please do.
I’m genuinely curious. Based on posts it seems about 50/50, but we have plenty who visit and never say a word. Maybe they’ll vote though.
As to the details of a trade. Who knows? Maxx for draft picks. Maxx for a player and draft picks. Let’s just say it’s logically fair and equal, cause emotionally fair may not exist for some.

I remember when I was pretty young an old timer and my dad were talking about a car that the old timer had. When asked if he wanted to sell it, he said "no. But everything has a price tag on it". I didn't understand the saying or why they both laughed a little until I got olderchucker wrote: Tue Feb 10, 2026 8:04 am I think it's the right answer. If someone offers to sell you a car, or buy your car or truck...... you can't say yes or no until you know the price. I guess there may be people who think Maxx is poison to the other players on the team but I don't believe that and I don't think his teammates feel that way. He's annoying to me, but I know he'll play hard.

What team is going to pony up the draft capitol or need a player like Maxx to get them over the edge?
Lions
Texans
Niners
Rams
Jaguars
Bears
Like the Packers this year who traded for Parsons they thought he was the missing piece. Which team feels that way this year and are the Raiders willing to take a late round 1st + more to offload a great player like Maxx?

I went to an auto broker to sell of of my trucks awhile back. She went to her computer to look at comps for my truck. Several were around the $20k area but one was asking $50k.Hellbound wrote: Tue Feb 10, 2026 9:22 am I remember when I was pretty young an old timer and my dad were talking about a car that the old timer had. She smiled and said,”That right there is a husband who has promised his wife he is trying to sell his truck but obviously he wants to keep it” lol.

I don’t want to trade Maxx but two teams that can really use him to push them over the edge for a superbowl are the Rams and Ravens who have picks 13 and 14 in the draft… that pick plus a quality starting player could get it done

Lions? He's from the area and grew up as a fan. No idea what their cap situation looks like.nmonte374 wrote: Tue Feb 10, 2026 9:57 am I don’t want to trade Maxx but two teams that can really use him to push them over the edge for a superbowl are the Rams and Ravens who have picks 13 and 14 in the draft… that pick plus a quality starting player could get it done

Rams are notorious for utilizing 1st round picks for stars.nmonte374 wrote: Tue Feb 10, 2026 9:57 am I don’t want to trade Maxx but two teams that can really use him to push them over the edge for a superbowl are the Rams and Ravens who have picks 13 and 14 in the draft… that pick plus a quality starting player could get it done
It's actually a model that has proven success and I'm surprised more teams don't do it. They have had 1 first round pick in the last 9 years (Jared Verse). And have sustained success. It's impressive.

While not impossible I’d say highly unlikely he’s traded

I hope we keep Maxx. I’ve seen the other movie before and it didn’t end particularly well for us. We strike out so much - unless the deal is the other teams 1sts indefinitely until one of them makes a pro bowl… I don’t feel great about it

Btw, we should think of a guy like Brock Bowers here.
He’s going in to his 3rd year. It’s been nothing but a disaster since he’s been here. He’s going to be looking to get paid in a couple years. I presume he will be watching closely how we handle the Crosby situation.

I can't answer without knowing what's really going on in the building. If he wants to stay, then I'm on board and if he wants to go, I'm on board. I'm sure the team will act accordingly either way.

You mean like make him the highest paid TE in the league because that's what the Raiders did for Maxx at his position? Or seek Bowers' advice on coaching hires? Or watch out for his health/longevity/career?Be_Easy_25 wrote: Fri Feb 13, 2026 5:21 am Btw, we should think of a guy like Brock Bowers here.

No, very few players are irreplaceable it's just a matter of price, but I don't believe anyone would pay that price. It would be nice to see continual return on the investment in Crosby has, his play has been on par with his contract. That is rare.

Every team needs a stud rich end and as we know they are tough to come by.
However he’ll be 29 later this year, has had 3 surgeries in the last two off seasons and I do t expect to contend this year.
He’s already under contract and would net the club a Parson’s like return you have to listen. The question is, do you think the front office would be able to turn the picks received into value. That might be the hardest part
