LOL dude it's a 1 for 1 trade period. One team gets a vet with mileage that is proven.
The other resets the clock with a potential franchise player with no mileage.
Push.

Yeah I wouldn’t trade the #1 for Lamar straight up. I don’t even think I’d do it if they were throwing in their 2027 1st.nitroraider wrote: Mon Feb 02, 2026 6:32 pm I wasted 30 seconds of my life reading that bullshit..

I know “Soul” may not like it since Brady’s been gifted acres of land rent-free in his dome, but the executives in the article comparing Mendo to Brady is so GD sweet.Raidernation1979 wrote: Mon Feb 02, 2026 7:31 pm https://www.si.com/nfl/raiders/onsi/gm- ... reddit.com

Never had a favorable opinion about Dan, but this is possibly his worst take ever...still SMH.

Look, I know I’m seriously prejudiced with Mendo, but regardless, anyone not a big Mendo fan always comes off as just flailing about. It’s funny and embarrassing, and I’m enjoying every last second of it sittin’ cozy in this here catbird seat.raidersince63 wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 4:49 am Never had a favorable opinion about Dan, but this is possibly his worst take ever...still SMH.

There's one universal truth about the draft process. Whenever there is a consensus #1st overall, guys who's career is built on generating clicks will offer up a dogshit football opinion for engagementGoodTimeCharlie wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 5:13 am Look, I know I’m seriously prejudiced with Mendo, but regardless, anyone not a big Mendo fan always comes off as just flailing about. If you only look at Manning's good game sure, they would take Manning over Mendoza. But those good games? They were against weak opponents. And they were surrounded by dismal games. But if you look at Mendoza's performances against teams that are good? He shined in those games and while he had a few games that were not great, he still gut checked when he had to. Penn St had them deep into the 4th, and Mendoza chewed them up.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 5:13 am Look, I know I’m seriously prejudiced with Mendo, but regardless, anyone not a big Mendo fan always comes off as just flailing about. The moronic trade idea of essentially trading the value of 5+ first rounders for an oft-injured player whose running superpower is on the decline, Lamar Jackson, raises the question of what individual NFL player you would trade the 2025 first overall pick for. This isn't a real situation, just a thought experiment.
No throw-ins - no additional picks or players from either side. Contract situation is part of the question - player for pick and player has to be paid as per his contract or expected contract.
I might just have Burrow, Allen, Mahomes, Maye and that's it. And age and injuries mean it isn't as clear as you might think in favor of some of those guys.
Daniels gets injured a lot. Williams is spectacular and still frustrating at other times - I still don't know if he'll be great or spectacularly inconsistent. Both of those young guys will be looking for new contracts in a year too. Stafford is near retirement. Herbert is smaller in bigger moments. Jackson gets injured too much and will be looking for a massive new contract.
There are not any non-QBs I would consider.
Maybe I'm missing someone. Probably a lot of people don't give a shit..... again it's just a thought experiment.

I think Maye is the only one I would consider. The other three are in the massive cap hit stage and will all be at least 30 soon. Maye buys you a few cheap years and is 24 this season. If forced to decide on the other three it would be Allen.

I was close to that same choice. It's not as easy as I thought until I got into it. I also realize that there's a real chance that Mendoza is a failure as an NFL player, as most QB prospects are. We're also in a better position for a big swing at a long term franchise guy, than we are for a shorter term QB fix because we don't have a pre-built roster that's just missing the QB.Jeevo wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 6:51 am I think Maye is the only one I would consider. From an emotional standpoint nobody. I want Mendoza to be a Raiders career franchise qb and go down as an all time raider great. All those other guys will be associated with their original team.
