Looks like we are left holding our dicks again
I’m not impatient, I just know the longer we wait, the more eggs enter a single basket.

It’s just sad that the Raiders are in the same boat with the Browns and Cardinals. As much as we look at other teams dysfunction, the Raiders are running neck and neck with them in that department, and coaches know this. They gotta get the head coaching carousel to stop and settle on a long term coach. Even if he’s 8-26 after two years, gotta give him time.

We can still have Webb if we want him. I don’t see him turning down a HC position to be an OC who doesn’t call plays.

I really hope they already have a wink wink with Kubiak. I’m gonna lose it if we get stuck with Vance Joseph.

So... I guess we all know how this ends. As we wait for Kubiak, Payton is deeeeep in Webb's ear and will promote him to OC. Webb has all the free will in the world to heed his mentor's advice, pull out of the Raider's search and wait another couple years. He's still incredibly young.
As this is happening, Kubiak (getting the same rundown from McDonald as Webb is from Payton) will get cold feet and stay with a good thing in Seattle and wait for a better job with a potentially better QB prospect on paper next year. McDonald and Payton turn out to be super protective of their coaching trees and don't trust Mark Davis.
Rivera, McDermott, Nagy, Joseph and Gruden will all interview at the end of the week and they end up hiring Nagy.
If this should happen, there are really really bad things happening at Raider HQ that ownership is fully aware of and are fully on board with not changing a damn thing about it. Whispers keep coming out about minority owners crawling out of the woodworks and Jim Gray lurking in the shadows. Whispers about Brady thinking he can just show up to interviews with everyone knowing once it's over you might see him once more before the season. There's plenty of respect for Brady the former QB around the league but not in how detached Brady the owner is from the day to day process.
Or Kubiak has a handshake and a wink with Spytek that the job is his and we've agreed to not be a distraction for the next two weeks.

I was thinking back to the day Chuckles was fired over those leaked emails. Thinking we were finally going to be able to get this team right. We all know w/o those leaked emails, Chuckles is still the HC, Carr is the starting QB, still stuck in mediocrity, having 7-8-9 win seasons, drafting in the middle of the first, and drafting players that have the draft “pundits” running to their almanacs wondering where that guy came from.
Fast forward to today, and it’s even worse. They went through McD, AP, and an octogenarian HC. However, there is a sliver of hope, but it hinges on them getting this hire right. They have to be able to land Klint Kubiak. Him and Fernando Mendoza will give me hope that there’s a bright future on the horizon. But if it’s someone like Joseph, Evero, or another retread, then we will never get this ship sailing as long as Mark Davis owns the team. All this losing will be worth it in the end if they hire Kubiak. If they don’t, we are the Las Vegas Jets/Browns.

I mean seriously Kubiak has to be interested otherwise we would have hired Webb by now right? If Kubiak said no thanks we wouldn’t be just waiting around like this

Agreed, but he can't be 74 years old or a failed POS from prior gigs.Oaktown Superman wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 5:46 pm It’s just sad that the Raiders are in the same boat with the Browns and Cardinals. That’s what I meant. He needs to be a new head coach named Klint Kubiak.Dr Death wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 6:34 pm Agreed, but he can't be 74 years old or a failed POS from prior gigs.
