Imagine calling the Cardinals and Browns bad franchises yet somehow leaving us off that list. We aren't a bad franchise? What is the cutoff for you?GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Tue Jan 20, 2026 4:09 pm Just my opinion, but Lamar (Balt) has convinced me that he will always get the lemon-booty in the playoffs. So for me…
Bills
Raiders (Mendoza Effect)
Ravens
Steelers (Stability)
Browns & Cardinals (Bad franchises)
Granted, A LOT has to do with Mendoza and Doofus legitimately looking like he’s going to allow Spytek to do his job.

Of course it's come to a crawl, all the best coaches won, and everyone wants the best coacheschucker wrote: Tue Jan 20, 2026 4:09 pm It feels like the momentum for all the remaining teams with HC vacancies has come to a crawl. Maybe all the teams are waiting until next week to have second interviews with coaches still in the playoffs.

The deceased Owners son that inherited the team is implementing a new management regime (Hope)
The Raiders are considered a historically relevant and important NFL Franchise.
But i wouldnt call the Cardinals a bad franchise. I would say they dont have the assets that are desired by top HC candidates

Still 6 openings. 4 solid offensive candidates. 2 defensive plus McDermott out there.Willmark wrote: Tue Jan 20, 2026 4:18 pm It has.
And must likely is. Its down to what ? Four openings and the four teams are likely honing in on two guys: Webb and Kubiak (as a guess). After they decide what they do the last two teams get to decide which way to go.

I agree. I don't think candidates are going to say "good franchise" or "bad franchise". It's more about where they expect the franchise to go from here, and if they have the resources to accomplish it.RaiderFan1 wrote: Tue Jan 20, 2026 5:29 pm 3 Rings

Around January 4th. Prior to that I would have put us right there with the Cardinals and Browns. Sure there’s hopium involved here, but with us having the 1st pick, what looks to be a winning QB available to draft, and a very very quiet Doofus Davis letting football people make football decisions, there’s a very good chance my ranking will be justified. …hopefully.bringdafunk wrote: Tue Jan 20, 2026 5:05 pm Imagine calling the Cardinals and Browns bad franchises yet somehow leaving us off that list. That should satisfy the Rooney rule. We would now be free to make a higher

We are a shit franchise until proven otherwise. The 1 pick & cap space doesn't do anything to disprove thatbringdafunk wrote: Tue Jan 20, 2026 5:05 pm Imagine calling the Cardinals and Browns bad franchises yet somehow leaving us off that list. We aren't a bad franchise? What is the cutoff for you?

We’ve been a shit franchise. You can also combine the number of Super Bowls the Browns and Cardinals have won and we’d be up by 3… to zero.Hellbound wrote: Tue Jan 20, 2026 5:43 pm We are a shit franchise until proven otherwise. The 1 pick & cap space doesn't do anything to disprove that
If it wasn’t for those 3 Super Bowls, I don’t think there’d be as many of us here talkin’.

Damn. Guess McDaniel will take a OC role. He's better suited for that anyway and maybe he knows it.

What a weird combo Harbaugh and McDaniel are.
