I agree make a decision, and move on it instead of being the last one standing with their thumb up their ass & nothing to choose from!heavyD wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 1:16 pm I don’t want to sound like that impatient fan, but it’s important to realize that once the first few dominoes fall, there will be a race to fill out coaching staffs and coordinators will also start getting plucked up fast with 9 openings. Raiders don’t want to end up like it was under AP where they had to settle for Getsy after all the good OC candidates were picked over. There aren’t a lot of key coaches on this staff that will likely hold over so they’re going to need to fill almost a completely new coaching staff.
Hopefully, they can quickly identify the best coach for this team and have him hire his staff in a timely manner.

Yep. Some think its a good thing for the Raiders to "do their due diligence" and interview everyone under the f[raiders_icon]cking sun. I do not. They should of had a guy in mind when they fired Pete. They got caught and had to settle last year and that can't be the case this year. Get your guy.pfish57 wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 2:55 pm I agree make a decision, and move on it instead of being the last one standing with their thumb up their ass & nothing to choose from!

I completely disagree. This is exactly what the raiders have been doing year after year. Ben Johnson was their guy and then they had no candidates after he said no. Mcdaniels was their guy. Gruden was their guyBoKnows81 wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 3:05 pm Yep. Some think its a good thing for the Raiders to "do their due diligence" and interview everyone under the fcking sun. I do not. McDaniels and Gruden were not Spytek and Brady's "guys". And exactly. Ben was their guy. They knew who they wanted. It unfortunately wasnt reciprocated. The Raiders have a lot more to offer this year.DanKD wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 3:07 pm I completely disagree. This is exactly what the raiders have been doing year after year. Then if one of those gets hired by the Raiders Hondo will proudly say, "Just like I predicted "A" was hired." It will be in caps lock as well.JRaider17 wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 2:12 pm For what its worth....Hondo's top 4 for our HC list.

Classic Hondo insight:
I feel very strongly that the Raiders will hire a coach. I can’t give away my sources but they’re looking at guys between the ages of 32 and 70. I’m being told it’ll be an offensive or defensive guy.

Could be waiting to interview Kubiak. By now they'd know if he had any interest in the hc position regardless if they're "allowed" to talk to him or not. They can do it through an agent etc. Im sure within the next week we'll either have a hc or it'll be down to a couple of candidatespfish57 wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 2:55 pm I agree make a decision, and move on it instead of being the last one standing with their thumb up their ass & nothing to choose from!

no, that is a tunnel vision view. I have been the decision maker before for hires, and I can say without a doubt, you interview with the idea that the right guy will stand out from the group. I never went into the hiring process with a preconceived notion of who was going to get the job. Make the decision in a timely manner but do not jump to conclusion. That kind of shit got us Gruden. We are interviewing a lot of guys who have no experience being a head coach. That means we are going in open minded and that will require multiple interviews to make the decision. No way I want to rush the decision given we are also bringing in the best QB we want to be confident the pairing will work.BoKnows81 wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 3:05 pm Yep. That's cool. You have your opinion, I have mine. To me, interviewing some of these guys is a complete waste of time.Attyla wrote: Thu Jan 15, 2026 3:24 pm no, that is a tunnel vision view.
