Saw a short vid with a bunch of Raiders fans in what looked like a bar signing that song. Yes, they were about as homosexual as you can get.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Those days are over. Modern defenses disguise everything pre snap so yes, it’s more important that ever for your QB to be able to improvise.

I don't understand this at all. Part time employees don't make big decisions. Microsoft doesn't bring in old software writers, no matter how good they used to be, to make company changing decisions. The assumption that such a person would be a savior while stock prices are low would cause them to plummet.

Let the GM do his job. Let the HC do is his job. Let the coordinators do their job. Etc.

Brady is busy doing his announcing gig and getting interviewed by Collin Cowherd.

He's an investor and that's what his role should stay.

Because top leaders always look for advice from consultants. The Raiders just happen to have one that is also part owner. The Raiders would be foolish not to take advantage of the situation.

All that could be true if that is what Marks allows or not. It seems Mark has allowed more for Tom.

Not correct on any level. Brady was brought in because of his football knowledge. Davis even has said repeatedly that his input is a valuable asset that they want to utilize. They said he is going to be part of the decision making process for the head coach. He is far more than just an investor. The GM's job does include input from outside sources. The head coach would be a fool not, at the very least, talk to Brady about what he is doing to prepare the team to compete. Same with the coordinators. Mendoza said Brady was his football idol. Why would we not pair them up? That to me would make no sense at all. Let's get our fair advantage when we can.

As for part time employees? That is a fallacy. He is not an employee, he is a part of the ownership. Most of these owners have other businesses that they run and yet they seem to be able to multitask. Brady can be a commentator and a decisionmaker at the same time. Hell, of the teams in the playoffs right now, you have a guy who runs a billion dollar real estate company, a natural gas developer worth billions, a billionaire in the packaging industry and a billionaire in the energy sector. And yet, these guys are able to successfully run their primary businesses and run successful football teams. And how do they do this?

You think pre snap disguise is new? Do you think people weren’t doing that to Peyton Manning and Tom Brady for years? Hence the part of the mental aspect of playing quarterback. You have pre-snap breeds and then you have a post snap read. Even Mendoza has talked about defenses disguising and him seeing it after the snap and changing his read.

To add to that being able to improvise, as always been an important skill for a good quarterback. We have had quarterbacks who could use their legs since the Dan football. Putting those priorities over football like you and being able to throw the ball to the right receiver at the right time is foolish.

I think there might be some confusion about the stance that some of us have on Brady and his position with the club. Maybe I'm alone in this, but personally I have no problem with him being a consultant, a guy that gives his opinions on a number of matters related to the football operations. The problem arrives if his role is actually making the decisions, if he is the guy who has the last say and in effect tells us who our draft picks, coaches, GM, etc. will be. If that's the role, and some have suggested that it is, then he needs to quit his announcers gig and be a full time Raider.

No, I agree, consultant, teacher and executive level decision maker, but let the GM and coaches do their job. GM final say on personnel and the coaches get to coach their units.

And I would want this regardless if Brady was a minority owner and consultant or if he was an employee as President of Football Operations.

There’s rumours out there that he was the guy largely responsible for firing Telesco to bring in Spytec. Definitely wonder if the rest of the league isn’t as confused as we are about what his role actually is and how much sway his opinion carry’s.

You also wonder if Mark isn’t just such a fan-girl that he’s ultimately just gonna go with whatever Brady says.

No experience in scouting, administration, or coaching. Sure, let's have that guy come in for 6 weeks and make decisions regarding scouting, admin, and coaching. After all, Mark Davis thinks it's a good idea so it must be a good idea.

yea, we don't know the role any of these guys have really, but educated guesses and pulling stuff from interviews and PCs can get us part of the way. We know Spytek calls Brady regularly and that Brady is not micromanaging that to the level of every transaction out there. We know he is making the decisions as of right now and Brady is more of a sounding board. We know Davis has asked that Brady be more hands on with the coaching hire but it sounds more like he will do what a lot of these guys do and after the interviews are over they will roundtable the decision. I am hopeful Spytek will have the final say. We know that coach will be picking his staff. And we got hinted that we are taking a QB in the draft. The questions that remain are, will Brady be in the building once his last game is called, and will he be active with our new QB once he is drafted? We know last season he dropped by a few times leading up and into camp but he was not there a ton.

Some good info that we know but a lot of questions to be answered.

Just imagine if he decides to wear 4 & beckmes the greatest No.4 to ever play for us & also play the game

Thanks, I used it correctly
2. Please learn how to understand an analogy.
Thanks if you analogy were accurate in any way I would have gone a different way. An employee no matter how high up the chain does not equate in any way to an owner. An owner, by definition is already making many decisions no matter how much or how little they actually work. An employee, no matter how much power they wield cannot alter the company without owner consent. Owners operate in different realms. If an employee screws up, worst that happens is they get fired. If an owner screws up, worst that happens is the company folds and all the employees lose their jobs. Owners have a next level responsibility.
3. Please keep using The Thumb to make points about good judgment. It's quite entertaining.
Thanks, I guess it is better than your thumb up your ass ?
4. Your deficient understand of an analogy, as illustrated in item #2 is further compounded by your apparent lack of knowledge of delegation as it exists in corporate American (and international corporations for that matter).
Thanks, I understand analogy quite well. I also understand delegation. You obviously have some reading deficiency because I never even implied that things are not delegated. Or, perhaps you just choose to make shit up because for some reason you went from a fairly competent poster into this mess you have become. I think we have another irrational "I hate Tom Brady because he is successful, his team knocked us out of the playoffs because the tuck was all his fault, and he bangs super models who would never even glance my way" guy.
No experience in scouting, administration, or coaching. Sure, let's have that guy come in for 6 weeks and make decisions regarding scouting, admin, and coaching. After all, Mark Davis thinks it's a good idea so it must be a good idea.
This is my favorite point of yours. What does scouting have to do with anything I said? As a matter of fact, other than his knowledge of QBs in general and his knowledge of being a QB I have specifically stated on numerous occasions that I want the GM to be the GM and that means personnel decisions. And you would be incorrect with regards to administration. Brady runs several very successful businesses already, most are sports related but not all of them. And a few are overseas businesses as well. As for coaching? Do you seriously think the guy does not know what coaching is about? How many coaches has he had over the years? You do not surround yourself with that many guys without picking up something along the way. And he is bright, not just football bright but bright. So being a voice in the room and being there in the discussions after the interviews are over? Sure, only a great fool would not want that. Remember, Davis said heavily involved, not decision maker.
