Talking more about his broad body of work. I think he's elite in his back shoulder and go balls. Great at diagnosing the blitz and getting rid of it. But his play action/2nd level middle of the field stuff is not as big of a part of his game. That will come with pro system experience, I fully believe he'll get there. Hard to defend a guy who can do bothAttyla wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 2:52 pm Well except for those 5 or so passes up the middle of the field including that strike for a TD of course

If you had only watched his tape before the playoffs, he'd still have been the clearcut #1 pick and potentially generational prospect at QB. After these playoff games, he's undeniable. He's playing at the same level or better on the big stage.Loftyraider wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 3:03 am Only caught the YouTube highlights but Mendoza looks the real deal right? Definitely more elusive than I imagined given the some of the comments I’ve been reading
Moore probably needs another year in college or if he does come out then at very least, a year behind the scenes on a team
We're lucky to get him and better put good coaches and pieces around the guy. Whatever he needs to learn/adapt to at the next level, does anyone think he's not capable of doing so?

play action is not a great part of his game but I also prefer play action from a guy who sets up under center. But he can hit guys on slants and ins effectively, but like you said he works the edges really well. Nobody is a complete package coming up but he is as close as I have seen since Burrow maybe. Gotta get him under center more, but not like they did with Geno where when he is under center you pretty much know it is a run and you stuff it.NoThanksSir wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 2:55 pm Talking more about his broad body of work. And Indiana wouldn't have done this, and neither would Hoover, if there wasn't certainty that Mendoza was declaring.NoThanksSir wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 8:23 am I think there's zero chance he returns. He's graduated already. Taking online only courses towards a masters. 1st overall money is nothing to scoff at, the only reason he's still in college was to improve his draft stock.
