Just saw a crazy stat and I need to verify. Last night was Fernando Mendoza's 5th game this year with more TD’s than incompletions. No other QB in college football has done that more than twice this century.
Just wow.
Just wow.

I have a hard time imagining the number one pick going back to college. The only thing that could happen is his draft stock goes down. Factor in he idolized Brady growing up and Id say it’s about a 99.9% chance he’s a Raider.

He's coming out because the NCAA has denied his eligability for a 6th year.

I hope Linderbaum was watching the game last night. I wonder if firing Harbaugh makes it less likely he goes back to Baltimore.

It also cant be understated that he wants his brother to get a chance to compete for the starting job. Listening to him, his coaches and those around him, he is 100% not coming back.LayneStaley wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 10:23 am I have a hard time imagining the number one pick going back to college. He thinks his little brother is better than he is. If that is true, good for that family.DanKD wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 10:35 am It also cant be understated that he wants his brother to get a chance to compete for the starting job. If we can repair our OL and give our running game a big boost, that will make play action from under center more deceiving to opposing defenses.

I'm not worried one bit about a smart guy with good feet and a work ethic like Mendoza being able to play under center when needed.

I believe fixing the OL could one of easier fixes on the team.raidersince63 wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 10:50 am If we can repair our OL and give our running game a big boost, that will make play action from under center more deceiving to opposing defenses.
Get a real OL coach and a couple of maulers for the interior in FA and develop on youngsters we will be much improved.

Mendoza needs to improve his ability to navigate the middle of the field. He's deadly accurate on those safe passes to the sideline but NFL defenses can and will eliminate those and force him to take chances.
Developing his under center skillset will only help bring his game to the next level. Play action under center will open up the 2nd level. He's got plenty to improve on but the kid seems bright.

Well except for those 5 or so passes up the middle of the field including that strike for a TD of courseNoThanksSir wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 2:33 pm Mendoza needs to improve his ability to navigate the middle of the field.
