New coach ………. Again
What’s your thoughts? I prefer young offensive minded with a fresh DC. Kubiak, Cooter, Kafka and pair them with someone like Al Harris as the DC.

I feel like the Flores/Daboll thing might be just lazy reporters connecting dots instead of actually reporting on something they've heard.

Aren't they just repeating the Florio thing?chucker wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 12:49 pm I feel like the Flores/Daboll thing might be just lazy reporters connecting dots instead of actually reporting on something they've heard.
Flores really doesn't strike me as a good fit. Defensive side of the ball, bad track record with a rookie QB, lawsuit against the league and their beloved Giants. I don't think his tough rough persona is a good mesh with Mendoza's choir boy ways either.

There's too many parallels between Flores' situation and the situation with McDaniels before we hired him. It's gonna be hard to trust that Flores has "grown" as a leader any more than McDaniels did.Marzan wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 12:54 pm Aren't they just repeating the Florio thing?

Mendoza is not a choir boy, good lord, people act like being a Christian is a strike against him. Cignetti has a tough persona. He is relentless, demanding and aggressive as a head coach. Dude it as tough as it gets in his expectations for his players. Mendoza would be fine with Flores. Flores has also mellowed out since Miami and has learned from his mistakes (at least as far as Vikings players think). He was right about Tua. I see that as a plus.
Flores had those Miami teams way overachieving and Miami wanted to tank. I have no problem with him. I would also prefer a DC as head coach, because we need our OC to focus on our offense and new QB.

Weren't we the hot pick to land Johnson last year, and wasn't there at least one other guy that we were the favourites to sign? When it wall all said and done Johnson had never considered us for a moment.

Im sorry but hiring Brian Flores as HC and pairing him with Brian f[raiders_icon]cking Daboll would deflate ALL excitement over getting the #1 pick. I can't imagine that's the route that Brady and Spy go but who the hell knows anymore. You're asking for another 1 n done.

In his mind sure. My point is I hope they aren't pursuing Flores as hard bc if they are, he'll be hired tomorrow. Which would be a disaster.Jeevo wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 1:36 pm I know we did but, despite the reports, we were never in the real conversation.

Yeah we had an interview set up with Coen but the Jags were not letting him go. Just because we are interested in the top guys doesn't mean they want to come here. Hope it's different this timeJeevo wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 1:30 pm Weren't we the hot pick to land Johnson last year, and wasn't there at least one other guy that we were the favourites to sign? Stefanski would be my choice at this point...
he did well in Cleveland for never having a QB, nor any real offensive weapons.
