...whether admitted or not, I don't think you are alone on this one.....Goodlukchuck wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 5:54 am As a life long Raiders fan this will be the first time I will be hoping we don't win a game. Only because I believe it is the best way to get this team back to it's glory years. And at my age I don't have to much longer to wait.

It is contrary to every thought process I possess to root for a loss. Ideal world would be that every team that affects our draft status wins before we play but that is not a reasonable ask.WNYRAIDER wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 6:20 am ...whether admitted or not, I don't think you are alone on this one.....
But watching Mendoza's adjustment to early hiccups and his ability to drive on his throws overrides my thought processes.
That said, as long as we get that first pick, even if it means we are alternating picks after the first round, I am good with that as well. But we need to own that first overall pick no matter what.

This will be the second match up of Indiana and OregonRunOverByHubbard wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 5:51 am Next get to see Moore and Mendoza on the same field . Should be interesting. Will Moore elevate his game? Will Mendoza be consistent again? Texas Tech was all over the Oregon backfield so Moore and his OC should be ready for that against Indiana. That freshman CB for Oregon is amazing. I bet Indiana goes at him early.
One more loss, one more loss.

Mendoza passed the ultimate test for me: my 60 year old dad watched the game and called to tell me there’s a great QB playing that looks like Andrew luck 2.0 that we should try to draft.

I watched that game and both qbs looked pedestrian. The box score reflects that but even watching it, it just felt blah regarding both of those qbsRaidernation1979 wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 6:35 am This will be the second match up of Indiana and Oregon

I think Mendoza is the clear cut #1 choice for me. He looks awkward as f[raiders_icon]ck when he runs but he manages to get the yards he needs. I don't see them getting the 2nd overall pick, but I have no issure with Moore. I don't like him more than Mendoza but I think he'll be fine at the next level.

That's the thing. It seems most are basing things after watching one game. Maybe some have watched most of their games. I doubt it as Indiana wasn't on national TV alot. Bama also doesn't have the defense they once did and certainly isn't as strong as the Texas Tech defense is. All of that said, I prefer Mendoza over Moore but looking at the whole body of work, one isn't head and shoulders above the other imoDeathStar24 wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 7:48 am I think Mendoza is the clear cut #1 choice for me. Yes it wasn’t a great game by either. The takeaway me from Mendoza was in the 4th throwing a pick 6 to let Oregon tie the game and get momentum, he then proceeded to lead a long TD drive to retake the lead and momentum.Hellbound wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 7:45 am I watched that game and both qbs looked pedestrian. Indiana's games were on quite a bit, like 60% or more. But you can pull up the full game footage. After Mendoza hit the radar, I went back to see what was up. Great thing is you can fly through a game pretty quick if you cut away the defensive series and all the stand around and wait stuff. But I wanted to really focus on the big stage game. He had a rather blah game vs Ohio State so going up against Alabama in the biggest game of his career was going to be telling. And another take away from Mendoza is that he did what he did with a very powerful run game. He delivered what he was asked to do with three very sharp TD's. He was accurate and he adjusted to the pass rush after his first series. And he played within the system. Indiana is a clock management system and they actually tend to slow things down. So you are not going to get a lot of flash. Watch the Penn St game if you want to see him really kill it. If there is a game on his resume that made him what he is today, that was it.Hellbound wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 8:00 am That's the thing. It seems most are basing things after watching one game. I agree. I watched about a handful of games for each and to me it's not a wide margin. Mendoza is better IMO but I don't feel like Moore is some sort of booby prize.Hellbound wrote: Fri Jan 02, 2026 8:00 am That's the thing. It seems most are basing things after watching one game. I can't see how Mendoza isn't #1, he has one probably two bigger games yet ahead of him ending the season with a possible 4 major games in a row and probably will look very capable in all of them. The new system really caters to fans who are mainly NFL followers to see more of specific players in full game settings vs highlights.
I can't see how Brady wouldn't love everything Mendoza is, if we have the chance.
I'm also seeing if there is anyway to lure their HC out of Indiana. I think it's a tough ask but I'd still look into it.
We have to obtain several quality lineman for this to matter asap.
I know I've said things that are like duh, but this disaster is finally ending with possibly that one huge silver lining nugget here at the end to make this much more swallowable. (We'll f[raiders_icon]ck it up)
