New coach ………. Again

What’s your thoughts? I prefer young offensive minded with a fresh DC. Kubiak, Cooter, Kafka and pair them with someone like Al Harris as the DC.

One of the top needs The Raiders need from a new Head Coach is a coach who has/can develop a young QB

The sad thing is Mark seems like a nice guy and is willing to rectify his mistakes (bountiful). He needs to follow Jody Allen's example and recognize he knows dick about football and back off while letting the GM handle EVERYTHING.

For sure. I think a misconception is that this has to be an offensive head coach. It does not. A great leader and teacher of the game can absolutely be the primaru developer of a young qb. Though you obviously need a competent oc and position coach.

Three NFL teams are currently 13-3 - two with retread coaches and one with a young defensive mind. No matter what direction you choose, it could go either way.

Attyla wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 8:45 am Bill takes up a lot of that. But yea, i am honestly not opposed to a guy who was a head coach and then lost that job. many guys fail their first time only to find success their second time. The experience the first time often follows rushing the guy into the job before they are really ready or they get a job on a really bad roster. But we are not that team. We have a weak roster but it can be fixed pretty quickly. We have some really nice pieces too. One of the most interesting soon to be retreads to me is Mike McDaniel. That goofy fcker does run a good offense. He just needs to not do press conferences lol

If he is fired, I would immediately hire him as OC and give him Chip Kelly money (was the highest paid OC in the league). I think he has an innovative mind and would do wonders to help our new prize.

I agree with this. I'm not sure about him as a head coach though. Im not sure he has what it takes to keep command of his team year after year.

And I think 12 of the 14 playoff teams have QBs drafted in the first round, SF and Phi being the exceptions, with 4 taken at 1 (not sure if 4 is correct).

They wouldn’t come because we didn’t have a QB. Both went to teams with former number 1 picks. Why it’s so important to have the number 1 pick
