If you do not try getting a QB, you will never have one. Rinse and repeat until you get that rookie on a rookie contract. Its the best way to build a team.

There is no way shape or form I'm drafting a QB with the 1st, with this current set of coaches. Immediately after next week's game, PC has to be fired and a HC search begun. Someone perhaps like Matt Nagy. An offensive minded HC who has worked with and developed young QB's. Part of the problem of not being able to attract a good HC here, is there was nothing to work with at the QB position. That has now changed with the opportunity to draft one.
Raiders will be picking very high each round and with the money in the bank to pay quality free agents, an immediate infusion of talent is in the offering. Trading away Maxx Crosby would also bring in a valuable haul of picks.
Other franchises that were down and out have changed their fortunes around in one year with the right HC in place.
The time to strike is when the Irons hot, and the Iron has never been hotter. We can only hope the guy using the hammer, knows how to wield it.

Don't worry, none of these coaches will be here. Possibly Graham but I hope not. And God no to Nagy. He's terrible.Sold My Soul wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 7:20 am There is no way shape or form I'm drafting a QB with the 1st, with this current set of coaches. Assuming we draft Mendoza, I would still like to see another QB selected later in the draft.

I definitely agree and said the same about a week ago. (Trinidad Chambliss)

I would like The Raiders' pick at number one to be so well known and solidified that all the talk leading up to the draft is who will be picked second.

I don't think they should for a couple of reasons:raidersince63 wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 7:53 am I definitely agree and said the same about a week ago.
If we draft a qb at 1.1, the team has to give him at least three years to develop, drafting a qb behind him could potentially damage his confidence. As a team, they need to be 100% behind him and reflect that on the roster. Cam MIller and AOC can serve as the back-up /developmental prospect.
The roster has holes everywhere, burning a pick on a player that will likely see little to no real playing time(barring injury) would be a waste of valuable draft capital and, as stated above, they already have two potential backups on the roster.

Nix Sux Ballz...He's the weak link on that Denver team imo.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 11:18 pm Regarding Moore, another Oregon quarterback was known as a game manager, and Mr. Nx is having a good good career so far.

Same can be said for any position...all draft picks come with risks, regardless of what round.
First and foremost, we need a QB and drafting more than 1 gives a better chance of achieving that goal... Many teams have done just that.

Don't be so quick to dismiss Nagy. 12-4 his 1st year with the Bears. Next year Vic Fangio was hired away by Denver and the Bears D sucked and Nagy was fired. He's been with Reid in KC now for a few working with MaHomes.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 7:23 am Don't worry, none of these coaches will be here. Possibly Graham but I hope not. Titans are rumored to be his landing spot.

Do not sit on Mike McCoy, while the results are not there in wins and losses, the general feeling is he is getting a lot more out of Ward than Callahan did and Callahan is considered the QB guru (he is not but that is a story for another day.) Mike may be the HC of the Titans next year.
