Which is why I will not be shocked if we somehow screw up the easiest layup in the history of the NFL draft.Corleone wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 1:27 pm This has got to be the easiest decision this org has ever made. Go ahead and turn in that draft card now Spytek.

Ironically, this song was current when the Raiders were in their heyday:

Fun Fact, it was non other former Raiders OC Bill Musgrave who recruited Mendoza to Cal from Yale where, if I'm not mistaken, he was slated to play WR. It was Musgrave who converted Mendoza to QB at Cal.Corleone wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 1:27 pm I'm sure he likes his intelligence as well. Before enrolling at Cal, Fernando was set to attend Yale, so the intelligence displayed on the field isn't just a football thing, guy is smart as hell, he's 6'5 225, is mobile (more rushing yards than Moore), and just won the Heisman, the kid can play.
Also, he was born in Boston and Tom Brady is his idol. He's also devout catholic and obsessed with achieving greatness in football to honor his family. This is not a guy who will have problems in Las Vegas.
This has got to be the easiest decision this org has ever made. Go ahead and turn in that draft card now Spytek.

That’s cool but how slow are the Yale WRs? Mendo strikes me as a high 4s guy, maybe 4.8-9?ALLRAIDERWORLD21 wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 4:55 pm Fun Fact, it was non other former Raiders OC Bill Musgrave who recruited Mendoza to Cal from Yale where, if I'm not mistaken, he was slated to play WR. If he is our guy don't f[raiders_icon]ck around just grab him. What if we trade with the Jets and someone moves to the second spot and grabs Moore?BoJacksonRules wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 2:43 pm Well history points to the QB with more Starts at the college level having a higher percentage of success in the NFL. Mendoza is the clear choice. The only other scenario I see is if we fleece the NYJs and then take the remaining best QB at 3.

It would be Simpson then. I wasn’t supporting the trade down scenario, just stating thats the only thing that I could possibly see us doing other then drafting Mendoza.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 5:03 pm If he is our guy don't fck around just grab him. I agree. If they decide that neither of them is their guy then the trade to 3 will happen and it would be a nice haul I think. Don’t expect it to happen.BoJacksonRules wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 5:09 pm It would be Simpson then. If the Raiders decide that neither Mendoza or Moore are their guy at #1, shut the whole f[raiders_icon]cking organization down and banish everyone to a f[raiders_icon]cking black hole.

If we don't go QB (I could be forced to get behind Moore) then the Raiders organization should be investigated for corporate malfeasance or stupidity.BoKnows81 wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 5:25 pm If the Raiders decide that neither Mendoza or Moore are their guy at #1, shut the whole fcking organization down and banish everyone to a fcking black hole.

If we don’t draft a QB at 1 it better be because it’s Cincy’s pick and Burrow is a Raider.

I want Mendoza...If he turns out to be another Kirk Cousins I'll be disappointed...Cousins isn't your franchise QB if you want success when it matters.RaiderandBulldog wrote: Sun Dec 28, 2025 9:29 pm Mendoza and for anyone who is whining he might be Kirk Cousins,
That is a franchise type qb.
