Raiders at Broncos post game thread
Well the good news is that this loss helps our draft position and there is free football on Sunday. The Donks begged us the take this game and the Raiders said. No thanks.
1 Can’t blame the defense they only gave up 10 points and got us 2 INTs. Some people want to fire Graham but nights like this one are worth keeping.
2 Geno had a really rough night but I would blame the play calling and the offensive line way more than him.
3 The refs were looking for flags tonight on both sides so you can’t blame them.
4 We need a new kicker after this season. Carlson doesn’t have it anymore.
5 At this point the season is done for so the rookies have to keep playing even if they make mistakes like Thornton JR did.

Ah, the old Schottenheimer way of doing things. Just play sound football. They will fart on themselves, the longer the drive, they will eventually pee on themselves...and this was the 90's when Schottenheimer was there, it's still true today, we will put together 10-12 good plays, but it's that 13th play where we just pee all over ourselves.heavyD wrote: Fri Nov 07, 2025 5:35 am As I said in the pregame, the Broncos aren't playing as well as their record indicates but a team doesn't have to play well to beat the Raiders. They only need to make less mistakes. Between a deer in headlights QB that can't get rid of the ball fast enough to sloppy special teams and generally sloppy overall play with numerous poorly timed penalties and you have the recipe for a 2-7 football team. At this point I'm beginning to wonder if things would have been better keeping AP around for another season as the offense wasn't great under him but we have entered bed & breakfast territory with Chip and Geno.

The game was in our hands, until Carroll decides to go for it on 4th and 2 at their 38, up 7-0, winning field position with a Cole deep punt landing on the 1. In that wind, you either punt or you punt, there really is no choice, why give them any semblance of life. AJ boots deep again, inside the 10 probably. Geno gets sacked of course for 9 yards at mid field. That was the turning point. Everyone thought AP was piss poor at game management, but Carroll, it's like WTF is going on in his head. You're at the 38 in no mans land.

Oh hell, no. I have no problem with that call. You have to have the offense make a play there.raiderjohn wrote: Fri Nov 07, 2025 12:48 pm The game was in our hands, until Carroll decides to go for it on 4th and 2 at their 38, up 7-0, winning field position with a Cole deep punt landing on the 1. I agree -- with this lousy offense, you punt it away.raiderjohn wrote: Fri Nov 07, 2025 12:48 pm The game was in our hands, until Carroll decides to go for it on 4th and 2 at their 38, up 7-0, winning field position with a Cole deep punt landing on the 1. I can see why he did it because if it would have worked it would have instilled confidence in the team, at the same time if it doesnt work then it should instill no confidence in the team going forward. Changes need to be made at that point if you have no confidence in the players or the scheme. Its a gamble for sure play call wise and PC should be held responsible for his decisions. They should make him fire one of his sons as punishment.raiderjohn wrote: Fri Nov 07, 2025 12:48 pm The game was in our hands, until Carroll decides to go for it on 4th and 2 at their 38, up 7-0, winning field position with a Cole deep punt landing on the 1. In a vacuum its the correct call but given how terrible chip kelly and geno are along with the game flow at the time, punting was probably the wiser decision there.

Yup, they've all been bad.
I really hope the league will give up TNF but with Mr. Greed aka: Goodell at the wheel it will never happen. If fact I he would love 2 games every night of the week for the revenue. To hell with the quality of the sport!
