Tyler Lockett expected to sign today
I wasn’t happy with McDaniels turning Vegas into New England 2.0, Carroll and the GM making this Seattle 2.0

Thornton did next to nothing in college, and he won’t be any better against better talent. With his attributes, he should’ve been a star in college, but he did next to nothing with both Oregon and Tennessee. And Bo Nix was his QB one season at Oregon.RI RAIDER wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 6:45 am We can not play the rookies. Papa Pete put one guy who I was hopeful about (Thornton) in the dog house because he did not bend the knee to him. This kid should be playing every down. Its not Thornton's fault that Geno is the new Garopablow and can't/will not throw beyond 10 yards. What a waste because this kids size/speed/strength is off the charts.

I don't agree with the first part but do agree 100% with the lastNoClapsPlease wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 4:43 am Good signing. We need a dynamic receiver badly and his skill set fits the bill
Look - this WR core is trash. The fact that Tucker is your most productive receiver should be a concern, no disrespect to Tucker.

Which is why I believe if Pete's back next year, Geno will be qb1The Real CK wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 6:07 am You make this signing at 5-2 for depth. We are 2-5. Play the rookies and see what they have.
Depends will do anything to prop up 67-yard SeeNo.

...I have no idea what this guy has left, or not, and have to be skeptical with the other WR needy teams out there and his still being available, and presumably, for cheap, though if it is a desperation move to add familiarity for geno pick it, in an effort to try and snap him out of his funk, what do we really have to lose?....

Not a chance in hell that Geno is QB1 next year. Take that to the bank.Hellbound wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 7:10 am Which is why I believe if Pete's back next year, Geno will be qb1

I don't want him to be, I don't want him to be now, but if Geno hasn't been benched for his play yet, I don't see Pete moving off of him. Im not counting an end of game blow out as a benching. Some coaches have huge egos & will do things their way no matter what. Pete's turning out to be that way tooBoKnows81 wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 7:11 am Not a chance in hell that Geno is QB1 next year. Signing means two things to me . . .
1) Meyers is probably gone by Nov. 4th, which means signing Lockett gets The Raiders a 2026 draft pick
2) There are no immediate plans to bench Smith

Thornton did enough to initially be named a starter (yes the bar is that low). I get it. Give his reps to Lockett. f[raiders_icon]ck, I would rather have Parham line up at WR (since he is awful at OG) than give reps to Lockett. What a waste. Papa needs to go after this season.

The problem with firing Pete at the end of the season is that there is nobody who wants to coach this team. Who are we going to get? Everybody knows the Pete wasn't the first choice because the guys they wanted (whoever they were) didn't want to come to this dumpster fire.
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't in favor of the hire. But the question is who wants to coach here?

You could probably sell me on anyone over Pete. What he did/is doing to this team is inexcusable and unforgiving in my opinion.Oaktownonly wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 7:50 am The problem with firing Pete at the end of the season is that there is nobody who wants to coach this team. Unfortunately, I believe Mark Davis is well aware of the talk about changing the HC every year and I think he'll fully honor his commitment to Coach Carroll for at least the 2026 season.
AND I think this will be a detriment to signing Free Agents after this season since no one knows who will be coaching, head coach and both position coaches, after 2026. There is absolutely NO clear path. The Raiders will once again have to over pay to get free agents to play in Las Vegas. This vicious circle will NEVER end until there is a stable young new head coach

The season is OVER. It would be a total a waste if we do not give valuable reps to pups. We need to see what we have. This is for all positions, not just WR.

As terrible of a decision it is to sign Lockett, it has nothing to do with Meyers. Lockett will be WR5 if Meyers stays and WR4 if Meyers goes. He's not coming here to be WR1 or 2.
