What changes should the coaching staff make during the bye
What changes should Pete and staff make during the bye?
I think Geno is cooked and if O'Connell is ready he should be starting. Geno is not some newly drafted 1st round pick going through growing pains. Maybe, O'Connell can give the team a spark.
Try adjusting the O-line a bit but I'm sure the coaches think they're playing the best combo of players in that group. Worth trying something new?
Thoughts on what adjustments can be made?

I don't know enough of what goes on in the Offensive Line room to know for sure. I would love more answers they are just not talking about it. I kind of wish some journalist would press Carroll for more information on what is going on with the line. Carroll has made some very general comments but really has not done a deep dive on the unit.raiderjohn wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 7:31 am I don't think Meredith has called the right blocking assignments. Is he better than JPJ? A 35 year old MLB gets 2 sacks with blitzes in the A gap....that cannot ever happen at the NFL level. That alone is enough for me to get Meredith out of the C role.

None. Tank & fire them all at seasons end...
From a tweet by Tristen it looks like Carroll has final say like Gruden so if Spytek was kept on I could wait another yr for him. Also saw (gotta find) that Spytek wanted Darnold but was overruled by Carroll & Brady. Carroll, his sons, Kelly and Brady can all get F-ed..
I can't remember when I saw a HC just run on every down in the 4th Q most up the middle to try and not score again like Reid did. Last thing him (or Peyton, Harbaugh) want id Carroll getting fired. They want their 2 W's....
I gotta watch the PC again. Pretty sure Carroll was (almost) bragging the team didn't quit because they made some D stops in Q4. Right now the only staff I liked less was Shell V2, Walsh & Slater...

Well in my opinion this season is lost, I say f[raiders_icon]ck it, start playing the rookies and get them some experience to build on for next season. What's the worst that can happen ? we just got blasted 31 -0 with one of the most embarrassing games in Raiders history at least we can accomplish something while subtlety tanking in the process. Unfortunately I get the impression Carroll thinks the team is not far off and will keep trying the same formula and accomplishing nothing.

You are right and we will never know with 100% certainty. I was assuming that Spytek was involved in the selection of Bech in the 2nd round (a round or 2 early) and bypassing day one starting guards to protect the first round investment. I still think he had a hand in it. I think one could safely assume that he was involved in the signing of Cappa because of his ties. Cappa is ass and his signing was an epic failure.Attyla wrote: Mon Oct 20, 2025 3:39 pm A good question, more people should be asking these questions and fewer people should be assuming they know the answer
Unless someone comes forward, we will likely never know the answer. My assumption is that Mark dolls out control and he gave Carroll governing control but if so he is again to blame. But I am guessing like anyone else
I think your take on Mark is spot on. He does not know what he is doing. He needs to hire a powerful GM and stay the f[raiders_icon]ck out of the way. Let the GM make football decisions from there including getting a HC (I think Mark had a hand in hiring Papa Pete).

We had a QB not long ago that always had a steamer in his pants at the first sign of a pass rushRI RAIDER wrote: Mon Oct 20, 2025 1:53 pm He still runs like he has a steamer in his pants, has still has no pocket presence, and he still can not read progressions. Other than that, he is good to go (hopefully far away).

Pete and Smith were plan B. We are finding out that they should have been plan C or D. These aren’t the guys that Brady and Spytec really wanted. They are the guys they settled on. I didn’t hate the Carroll hire if only because he’s proven and may have been able to build a culture for the next HC. Really though if you look at what what Spytec did in free agency (few moves despite ample cap space) it looks to me like he had an eye on next season and wanted to see the roster for a full season prior to spending $$$ in free agency. It’s not a terrible strategy really.

Easy to make stops when the other team has its foot on the parking brake. The Chiefs eschewed passing and multiple field goal attempts.Fade2SilverAndBlack wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 1:46 pm None. Tank & fire them all at seasons end...

Musgrave did nothing after his stay here. He failed with Denver (24th and 27th in points) and had four different QBs and did nothing with them and Cal U as their OC.Rainman56 wrote: Thu Oct 23, 2025 8:22 pm Musgrave was ass,he just looks decent now because of the crapola we seen the past few years![]()
The success in 2016 was player-driven (Carr, Murray, the O-Line, Crabtree, and Cooper)
