Billy Martin should be in the HOF.

My favorite MLB venue. Love the smell of the garlic fries when you walk in. Nice cool breeze off of the sound. Always a great way to spend an afternoon.
I hope they pull it off.

This is awesome.
Cal hit #61 and it was this guy, in Tiger stadium, who snagged the ball.
He then took off his #61 shirt and revealed #62. Great stuff from a fan.

That is called propaganda to fool idiots into thinking athletes are like regular people.

Koufax threw a shutout in Game 7 of the 1965 WS on TWO DAYS rest with an arm full of arthritis. Kerchoke can't even go two innings!

Not a Kershaw fan at all but the man is going to the HOF. And again, not a fan, but he will deserve it. And comparing a guy who has lost his handle to a guy on the Mt Rushmore of pitchers who was seven years younger when he pitched on two days rest may not be fair or even close to apples to apples. Don[t get me wrong, Koufax was a deadly pitcher who almost ruined his arm for life for love of the game. That kind of pitcher does not exist today. Him and Drysdale were one of the best 1-2 pitchers ever. Maybe Spahn and Sain but it would be close. Modern guys would be Maddux and Glavine
A deep dive into the numbers does suggest that Kershaw is not as far off from Koufax as one might think. It was a different era for sure, Koufax pitched a number of complete games whereas Kershaw did not go nine except once. But that is more about the era than anything else. ERA's win percentage etc are pretty close. Where wins is always a team thing, pitchers control the games far more than any position in any team sport with hockey goalie maybe being close. Again not a Kershaw fan at all but his numbers hold up. In his era and during his time, he was a dominant pitcher for his team.
Last night, though, who's fault was it that he was out there as long as he was? That would be his manager. I would have hooked him after the three batter rule, but that is just me. But Kershaw was really good for long time. He got his ring and will get his plaque when the time comes.

Koufax was aces in the postseason. Kerchoke wasn't. He is a first ballot HOF for sure, but not an all-time great, and not close to Koufax.
I would trust my life to Koufax in a Game 7. If Kerchoke received the ball, I would start writing my will.

never talked about either in a game seven
Just felt his attack at 37 years old in a game he should have been better managed was unfounded, and his comparison to an all time great was not appropriate. He got beaten, every pitcher gets beaten, even Koufax.
