Darnold took 9 sacks and lost a fumble in his playoff game against the Rams when his line didn’t block for him. He was 18 for 41 against the Lions for 166 yards and took 2 sacks when his line sucked in that game too.
People were doubting him after those last 2 games. Some people were blaming the line. Some people were blaming him.
It’s reasonable to argue the team should have taken him instead of Geno, but some qbs play the worst football of their careers when they come here so I would expect him to struggle here with no o-line and no defense and no running game because the o-line can’t run block either.

In your mind I guessLayneStaley wrote: Mon Sep 22, 2025 3:26 pm I was quoting someone who said Geno’s TDs don’t really count cause it was garbage time in reference to both Darnold and Geno having 4 tds. I said I’d argue the entire Saints game was garbage time because they are the worst team in the league. Did I clear it up?

Yeah, some of these folks sound eerily like the "If he just had this, he'd be top 5!" people of yesteryear. Just give him an elite WR corps, an elite O-line, and a top 5 ground game! Then and only then can you expect anything from him!BoKnows81 wrote: Mon Sep 22, 2025 2:40 pm There's plenty of tape on Geno to evaluate. This is EXACTLY what kind of a QB he is. Bad, average, elite line or not. He adds to the problems and will not win you games. Seattle knew that and that's why they let him walk.
It's too soon to begin with the nicknames, but I've got several loaded and ready to go.

O'Connell ain't It, but if we were 1-2 and he'd thrown 4 picks and 4 TDs (two of which were garbage time), you wouldn't be willing to be so patient.LayneStaley wrote: Mon Sep 22, 2025 3:32 pm They already have. We’d be rivaling the Andrew Walter offenses with AOC and this line.
Geno will get all the time the coaching staff gives him, so hopefully he'll improve. So far though, he's been ineffective and made poor decision with the ball. And yes, the O-line is horrible. There's an entire thread about it.

So this is just the shit on Geno thread without giving any particular reasons why he might be bad? I need to go to oline thread to talk about that? Do I need to go to the Jeanty thread to shit on him? He looks like a fat bust right now. Or does he get the benefit of the Oline excuse?Opoponax50 wrote: Mon Sep 22, 2025 4:44 pm O'Connell ain't It, but if we were 1-2 and he'd thrown 4 picks and 4 TDs (two of which were garbage time), you wouldn't be willing to be so patient.

I haven't seen a Raiders QB get abused like Geno did yesterday since the 2006 season opener against the Chargers......Not a Geno fan, didn't like the signing and would have forced him to play out the last year of his contract before giving him big $$$.LayneStaley wrote: Mon Sep 22, 2025 3:32 pm They already have. Paying more $$$ for a mid QB who maybe gets you a couple more wins doesn't make sense to me...Especially when we have so many holes elseware....Petes staff sux ballz, rivaling Gruden 2.0,s for crapola and that's saying something.
Pete also has to be having Graham run his scheme on defense,Grahams defense looked far different in past years to me.
Geno works hard,is willing to stand in there but simply isn't the guy to carry a team and never was....No O-line=No runs game=Geno throwing alot=epic fail......Chip Kelly needs to be shown the door along with Petes son imo.

It seems that the last two games, that the opposing defense knew if we were going to pass or run. Is our team tipping their plays? I suspect they are.LayneStaley wrote: Thu Sep 18, 2025 6:18 pm It’s been 2 games. Fix the line play and see what happens.

Lol...that's actually a valid pointLayneStaley wrote: Mon Sep 22, 2025 3:16 pm Some good points but I’d argue the entire Saints game was garbage time for the Hawks yesterday. They are horrible.

Instant gratification generation. Looked decent week 1 and many hopes went through the roof. Lose 2 ugly ones and folks are ready to hang PC and Spytek already. Even Al would be saying,”Relax, give it some time” lolLayneStaley wrote: Mon Sep 22, 2025 4:52 pm So this is just the shit on Geno thread without giving any particular reasons why he might be bad? As bad as Al was regarding certain things in his waning years the team just hasn't been the same since he's been gone imo.Xramfan wrote: Mon Sep 22, 2025 5:11 pm Instant gratification generation. Do you think Darnold would be as good on this team?
