Carr didn’t screw us, we structured his contract to allow him a choice. He has made his choice.
Leaves us with no good options at this point. Trade away the future for a gamble? Yes, they are gambles until proven otherwise. No thanks.
AR? Head case making too much money not knowing what his favorite color is let alone if he wants to play from year to year. Attention whore. Pass.
Jimmy G? Has shown he cannot stay on the field, can’t make every throw needed to be an nfl Qb. Hell, at least Carr was available, even if at times we wished he wasn’t. No way.
I say stay with Stidham, whether Adams likes it or not. Same with JJ. At minimum he knows the system, saves a ton of cap space to build a decent D and has shown he’s willing to not go full fetal position in the face of adversity.
Pray they don’t overpay for Jacobs.
Nail the draft.
Use cap space wisely in free agency.

Why does this have its own thread? It’s been discussed in the Carr thread for a while.

Good riddance. The risk of keeping him until March 15th isn't worth a 3rd round pick, and finally closes the door on the Carr chapter. Gone is the self righteous blame me, it is all my fault presser and the worst thing is Carr always saying one more second and that would have been a TD. Football isn't a game of almosts Carr. I wish you no good luck next year and don't let the door hit your ass.
Good for him. This new regime thought they were so smart. McDaniels learned nothing from his time in Denver.
Carr fan first, Raiders fan at all?
He's going to be released because he then dictates where he goes and the other side doesn't have to give up anything. He'll say no until he's cut. Or he's doing us an actual solid on the way out.
Nailed It.

It’s being reported the Saints wanted him to take a pay cut. Going to be interesting to see what he gets paid going forward. A team will pay him; question is how much do they think he’s worth. Obviously it isn’t as much as he thinks he’s worth.

I guess people are ok with his play vs the Saints, Rams, and Steelers and warrants paying him 40 Mil a year. Not to mention league worst RZ TD % and leading the league in turnovers… yeah, let’s pay that guy near elite money.
Not sure why anyone would be upset given the Raiders wanted the contract structured in a manner where this scenario plays out where everyone knew they were going to have to cut Carr.
Exactly. It was a one year prove it deal. It was written this way for just this reason. Carr got extra money last season and the team got an out. Nobody got screwed on either side IMO

The raiders made a business decision in sending him home to avoid injury. Carr made a business decision here. Basically it's a non story nothing to see here.

Ita time to move on. F*** him he never was a Raider. I say put together a solid package to move up to 3 and get Stroud. Enjoy a nice ceiling for once. Then use your cap space on defense the best we can. I'm not hollering Super Bowl, but you're not gonna get there without QB in place. Let's start with that.
