Minshew's my favorite bridge at the moment. His goal would be to come in and make any rookie QB irrelevant. That is, he'd want to play so well they'd be insane to not make him the starter and trade the rookie away.
I'm not saying that would happen, but that attitude and that fire is what a team needs to be successful.
And if he ends up playing like crap, oh well. We just keep moving on. But right now, that's the guy I want.
ETA: and if I'm wrong, I hereby swear that if an image of Gardener Minshew is burned into my toast one morning, I won't take it as divine inspiration. Instead I'll just say, "Huh, that's weird." Then I'll smear butter over it, and eat it. Maybe I'd take a pic first and post it because that'd be hilarious.
So that's a no? I'm kind of thinking the place holder will be worse than Carr. To me the endgame is the QB after the bridge, unless we get ARod or something.
I think we can find a better bridge than Teddy B. He’s seriously that bad.

For perspective on “no one could expect Derek to perform in year 1 in Mcdaniel’s complicated system”. Let’s compare with a rookie QB’s 1st year and Carr’s first year with JMD.
Stats:
Mac Jones: 3801 yds 22 TD 13 int (17 games)
Carr: 3522 yds 24 TD 14 int (through 15 games)
Carr is averaging 150, 1.5 TD, 1.75 int per game his last 4. So let’s say he would have done something like 350/3/2 combined in his last two games.
Turns our stats into:
Jones: 3801 yds 22 TD 13 int
Carr: 3872 yds 27 TD 16 int
Our 9 year rookie ladies and gents. I didn’t realize it was this bad, their stats are almost identical

Guy is all about himself, good riddance.

In all honesty I am glad Carr is out of the facility so as to avoid him getting hurt on Raider turf. Safe call to have him out right? Probably wrapped him in bubble wrap and escorted him to the edge of the property

Took his ball and went home?
No way he could ever walk back in to that locker room and command the respect of the men in it.
Guy really couldn’t sit in the sidelines for 2 weeks?

Vic Tafur said McD and Z met for a couple days and they were going to go with Carr the rest of the way and Davis stepped in.
