I’m glad someone sees where I’m going with this.
Carr getting the boot is a good victory for some, but after the high from that fades, we still have to look at the fact we have mcdaniels as a HC.
He failed in Denver, but let’s not forget Sam Bradford also had the worst season of his career under mcdaniels and here we are again, with Carr regressing significantly.
If mcdaniels is on a 4 year contract like most believe, year 2 needs to be a playoff season or this guy is really going to be looking at being fired
In order to save his job and buy time, he’s going to have to get a better QB and I don’t know who that will be, but bringing garrapolo or minshew in, is something a coach with 100% solid job security would do. I don’t think he’s going to want to hitch his wagon to either of those guys
Or I could simply be wrong. But if self preservation is at play, they better be looking for a clear upgrade at the position.
That's the name you're going to use as an example? That's reaching don't you think?
Not worried about what happened 10-15 yrs ago. Also I'm sure this wasn't a knee jerk reaction by the staff and team captains/core players were consulted on this. And who knows, maybe they were 100% on board. Maybe they're tired of Carr's shitty playing too
I can assure you the D is tired of his 3 & outs & turnovers;)

Scenario 1: Carr gets released after the end of the regular season
Scenario 2: Carr gets retained after evaluating the season and what direction to go
Scenario 3: Carr takes a pay cut and by virtue, receives a much shorter leash going into 2023
Let’s kick back and see what happens.
They are & that's the sad reality of it lol
Those guys play hard. Regardless of their talent level, they're intense and they leave it all out on the field. Players like that are an automatic upgrade over Carr. If they don't work out, so be it. Welcome to the NFL.
But the main point is that they go out there to win. They're not anointed, untouchable QBs who just assume the job is theirs as long as they want it. I don't like to comment on Carr's personal side. I don't know him and so it's unfair and inappropriate. What I can see though in his play on the field is that he doesn't work on his weaknesses all that much.
I've harped on it too much probably, but a microcosm of his willingness to self-evaluate can be found in his dog-shit play action and dog shit pump fake game. Those two basic things never got better. It was clear he never worked on those two things. Why? I don't know. But what I do know is that a pump fake helped launch a dynasty (see The Catch). These things matter, except to Derek Carr.

He’s failed every single time he left the NE nest. Is that something we need to ignore?
I swear y’all just want to argue. I’m out this thread.

I agree that McDaniels is still an issue. If it were up to me both him and Carr would be gone. But sometimes you have to put one foot in front of the other to get to where you want to be. This moment has been 9 years in the making, and if anything the fact that we're doing it the way we are proves that the organization is trying to be prudent. I disagree with them, McDaniels should be shown the door. But I respect it.
I do think you fomenting the memory of Sam Bradford is kind of silly. The example might have had a bigger impact if the QB was ever good...though if you feel that way about Bradford it might explain a few things regarding Carr
JK, doing my best to keep it cordial. Just some friendly banter. I respect you for at least showing up today.

to sign a cheap deal would mean he is willing to be on the bubble from the go next year
he either waives his no trade and is traded or he is released. No other scenario makes any sense

It’s about f[raiders_icon]cking time!!!! I’m in Vegas now for a holiday so looks like I’m gonna go to the 9er game now.
No way was I paying my hard earned money to watch Carr try and pretend to be a legit Qb
