Detroit, Seattle, Chargers, Cleveland and New Orleans all have better records than us. And Detroit and Cleveland are beating us offensively with who at QB? Of the teams worse than us on defense, only Herbert is actually a good QB.

Justify this sir, we spent how much on this offense and now your latest spin is that we only won when we had a good defense. Those defenses are worse than us and have won more.
Yeah but have any of those teams had to overcome two dropped passes in 5 games?

Weird that KC is a tough out with the 25th ranked defense.

I can't believe people are still trying to make the defense the scape goat when they helped create 20 and 17 pt leads in which the offense failed to contribute in putting away the game in the 2nd half. Especially when the offense is getting millions more in cap space to be the unit that carries this team. How are you going to blame the defense when Carr is the highest paid player on our team? No other player is more responsible for winning and losing than him.

It's pure delusion.
Carr only has one of the best WR corps in the game and a solid running attack, and an O-line that's playing above its head. Now all he needs is a top 5 defense before we can judge him fairly.

Until then, he's obviously as much of a play maker and difference maker as Josh Allen.

God. I don't even feel like bagging on Carr right now, but this shit just pours salt on a years' long wound. Yes, he played well against KC. It was a complete game for him. But that's what, one in five? And the damndest thing is that that's about what he's good for every year: 20% of his games are what could fairly be called "complete games."

The whole damn thing is just so played out.
I'll write this for the how many(ith) times I can't remember. I go all the way back to my Pastorini v. Plunkett days. There are some guys that teammates with run through walls for and others... not so much.

How many times do we have to hear this about the defense. It gets old. The amount of money that the offense has had thrown at it, they damn should be doing a lot more. Let's not forget that we were in a position to win the game against the Chiefs. That's what every Quarterback asks for. 2 minutes to go down the field and get the win but we didn't get it done. I think the offense hamstrings the defense more than we realise with the sheer amount of 3 and outs we seem to insist on. The list of excuses offered up for the QB is quite frankly, embarrassing.

With a new coach, it was expected that the Raiders would take a few weeks for the team and Carr to play at the level they are capable of (IMO at least). I expected to see the team gel by week 3 but that wasn't the case. However, Carr's total QBR has improved each week with the exception of week 5.

Carr's Total QBR - weekly (per espn):
Wk 1: 26.7 (27th)
Wk 2: 61.2 (13th)
Wk 3: 65.3 (11th)
Wk 4: 66.8 (10th)
Wk 5: 64.0 (8th)

Total: 56.7 (12th)

Interestingly, only 2 of the QB's that the Raiders have played had a better QBR than Carr (Herbert and Murray) and only 2 of the QB's have a higher QBR for the season (herbert and Mahomes).

Hopefully Carr's level of play continues to improve as the season moves forward. The bye week came at the best time for the Raiders to get their minds right. Continued improvement from Carr and closing out games should result in a streak of wins. Especially considering the next 6 teams they play only have one team with a record over 500.

There are still 12 games remaining - I'm not giving up on this season yet.

If you want a top tier D, fine, but it means that you go young at QB. As long as you need to pay your QB and his offensive weapons top dollar, the longer everyone here will whine about the D.

Phillies D is looking damn good. But they pay their QB $1 million this year. Yep, you read that right.

Ohhhhh, but the risks of drafting a young QB. You want to lift this team out of the ditch of mediocrity....you need to be bold in the draft.
That’s what I’ve been preaching
Yes, you, me and others. People whine about the Raiders being mired in the muck of mediocrity and saddled with a bad D but at the same time want their QB to be paid and for him to have a ton of offensive weapons and oh yes, a wall for an OL.

They make me laugh when they whine. Like they do not realize that when you extend a vet QB and get him an elite array of offensive weapons it means that the O must carry this team. Funny thing is, the O stalls in the red zone more than a broken down car. Pun intended.

Our defense and KCs has a 1 ppg difference. Miami the same. Saints Seahawks and chargers all worse. Stop whining about the defense.

We lost all four games.

I can't even find it within myself to be upset about it anymore. If Carr is on this team again next year (barring some spectacular turnaround), then that's it. Next year's football season will see me on the golf course instead of in front of the goddamn TV. I keep saying this because I want to hold myself to it. I was going to do it this year except the team friendly deal allows us out of a longterm contract with Carr.

Against the Cardinals in OT the offense got near or at Carlsons' FG range but Renfrow fumbled the ball and that was that. Waller dropped two TDs passes at the Titians that he was given a big fat contract to make so we should not have even been in that position.

Last week at the Chiefs Adams bobbled a catch that he needs to make at the KC 39 yard line although I think the refs screwed us there and then Renfrow and Adams run in to each other on 4th down.

Here is also a fact Carr has gotten better even week in this offense and if he keep improving will be back next year

I go into every game thinking, maybe this is the one where we put it all together, and then, it just never quite happens. Carrs play does disappoint me generally and I'm pretty much in the boat now where I just expect nothing.

what standard are we using to say Carr is getting better each week? A scoring system that some guys created?
