Al waited a little longer than I would have before he severed that relationship. Unfortunately the son is not as bright.
I don't remember where I recently read this Turkish proverb, perhaps it was here.. I tend to read through a lot of different websites. Sorry I cannot recall who to give kudos. If it was someone here, please confess so I may give appropriate credit:
When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn't become a king, the palace becomes a circus.
I really like that quote. Makes sense why my house feels like a circus all the time.
might well stop watching the season
wait until the playoffs start, is the raiders in it?
great, if not oh well
You really shouldn’t watch. It would be good for you to avoid anything that makes you this negative and unhappy. The bonus for all of us in this approach is that you would have no need to come here spewing your constant negativity

I'm sure it was entertaining as always. If Ivan is 40 years old or more tho, he knows Al would have dumped Carr's ass the first time he showed signs of being a pussy, which would have been in college, so Al would never had selected the soft QB to begin with. Derek Carr is the anti Raider, and therefore the anti Al. Kids these days...
Serious question :
What would primetime Al do with him if he had him as QB? how long would he have lasted on the field?
He would have lasted about 1/2 season.

Paid a zillion dollars. Carr was a cheap contract 2nd round pick. Stabler sat, why wouldn't Carr???

Who cares?? Al is gone to glory...this is pointless because I don't think any of us knew Al well enough to even really speculate on it.
Who cares?? Al is gone to glory...this is pointless because I don't think any of us knew Al well enough to even really speculate on it.
Al's history gives us insight into what he may or may not have thought about players after his death. Certainly, Al loved the big arm, from Marinovich to Russell his drafting of QB's always included those guys who threw bombs. Heck even most of the guys he got via free agency had huge arms. Hoss and George being two that stand out. Carr's version of offense would not have fit in with Al's verticle passing game mentality. This is not a stretch to think this is the case. Carr might have the big arm and can make all the throws, but Carr's more west coast offense mentality would have frustrated Al as we saw with the first Gruden years. Al tolerated that because we were winning but it was not his style.
But then again, Al meddled in the defense far more often.
