There's a tweet out there on how McDaniels won the HC job and it was about impressing MD on how he would win with Carr so all of you guys hoping for a trade can probably forget about it

https://twitter.com/Schultz_Report/stat ... 4UQXQ&s=19
Let's see if we're all happy about that fact at this time next year. Including yourself.

McDaniels might find ways to win enough games to get to the post season. But no way does Carr have what it takes in the playoffs.
The upgrade is coming but it may not be next year and if it does it may not be an upgrade next year because about any rookie not named Dan Marino or stumbling into the next Kurt Warner is likely going to take at least a year to come into his own.

Since we aren't in a window and we have a younger target that operates in the middle of the field and around the line of scrimmage Waller is likely on the block as well.
I'd prefer to retain Renfrow but the world doesn't revolve around a slot receiver. He will be made a very competitive offer but if he feels "wasted" then I'll cash him out too.

We are evaluating Jacob's but leaning toward not picking up the option. Miller is young and freshly resigned so I'm not sure why he is listed as on the cheap.

Also, you plan to waste them as well. You just want to overpay the same joker we just overpaid again to do it or at best screw around and burn the chance to get anything in return just to be in the same place in 365 days but with nothing or at best far less in return.

Of course it is the best plan as the alternatives are magic beans or the same as it ever was, pretending the 9th or 10th rookie season will be the one that turns the tide.

Patch up the old hoopty again and see how long it rolls before the wheels fall off again isn't a plan other than planning to fail in some desperate hand to mouth gambit.

You insist on more of the Dalton trap and I insist on avoiding doubling down on it.

You are seemingly getting your way but I don't have to be happy about it nor do I need to endorse it. I do not see what you see in this guy and you, him, the turnip, and the new yes men own it and I'll eat my crow if it is ever served even if I know you folks will never fess up and be back with the excuses and spin year after year.
You do realize which former poster this is right?

Unfortunately, Mark Davis is one of those people.

The only successful guy that can't do that is Brady. But Brady is a like a Jedi master at reading defenses, he is one of one. There is no path for Carr to become elite with his skillset.
CHEW ON THIS :

lets answer this question : HOW BAD IS CARR REALLY ?

...im going to compare him to just 5 of the greatest winners and pure passers ever since 1970 [ regular season only /one team]

BRADSHAW [4 rings] -
MONTANA [4rings] -
BRADY [6rings] -
BREES [11 times 1st or 2nd in comp pct] -
RODGERS [best qb last 15 yrs]

......those 5 QB WON 69% of their games with a DEFENSE ranked #11
.......CARR has won 44% of his games with a DEFENSE ranked #26

...SO........now what did those 5 GOAT QB's WIN when they had a DEFENSE WORST than a TOP 20 ???
.....like Carr has had 6 of this 8 years

.......well those GREATEST OF ALL TIME QB WERE = 82 - 101 - 2 .449 [45%]
OH LOOK ---> yes 45% JUST LIKE CARR !!!

.......BRADSHAW/MONTANA/BRADY WON because they HAD GREAT DEFENSE !!!
....those 3 all had ON AVERAGE A #7 DEFENSE for their whole career.

....BRADY had a TOP 10 or better defense 15 of the 18 years as a CHEATRIOT .....WHO THE F**k WOULDN'T WIN with that defense and the refs on your side !!!

Don't make judgment without all the knowledge
you just took 5 guys who will be or already have been enshrined into the HOF and compared them to Carr and in the process tried to convince us that Carr would be in the discussion for the HOF if he played on those teams.

But you also forget a lot of context when you just use rankings to make an argument. Montana may have had some great defenses, but he also had Jerry Rice and Roger Craig. The offense was just damn good.
...YEAH , like the worst defense for any starting QB EVER !

ARCHIE MANNING for his career played with a defense ranked #24

...for 69% of his games he played with a defense ranked WORST than #20

...he WON 28% OF of his games

CARR for his career has played with a defense ranked #26

...for 75% of his games he has played with a defense ranked WORST than #20

...he has WON 44% of his games

CARR has OVER ACHIEVED and ranks up there with the best QB's TO EVER PLAY given the situation he has been dealt . [ see some previous posts]

Bring KNOWLEDGE before you post
And old Montana QB'd the Chiefs to the conference championship against the Bills in 93 with the 14th ranked defense in points allowed...JJ Burden and Chilie Davis were the 2 main WR iirc.Montana was 37 at the time and played when QB could still get pounded.Just saying.

Carr playing in that era would be laughable...He'd have retired long ago.

Lol, people still holding out hope Carr’s flaws can be corrected with coaching. The dude is going into year 9, that’s almost a decade playing in the NFL. Carr is who he is at this point. He’s not going to suddenly fix whatever issues he’s had since he’s been in the league that he hasn’t fixed yet. Since Mark Davis is in love with his hand picked QB and refuses to move on, hopefully JM can design a offense around him that limits/hides those flaws like Musgrave did for the time he was here.
That would be ideal, i certainly don't want to extend him with a big 35 to 40 million per year contract... Maybe Carr would do it, but i don't think there are many players that will do that. business is business, would you sacrifice that money for your family ?
Carr is under contract for 2022. I would make him play it out. I don't see him holding out and watching other QB's get his reps in practice.

He is who he is, so minimize the bad and maximize the good. IMO, we need an OC who will mix in up-tempo throughout each game. Not on every drive, but it should be used consistently because that's where Carr seems able to excel. It keeps mismatches on the field and can hide the one read and done feature that is probably the worst part of his game.

We always blame the defense for Carr. How about blaming Carr for the defense? Those constant 3 and outs and stalled drives sure don't help.

If Carr can learn how to do a pump fake and a great play action fake hand off it would help him tremendously.
