Mariota beat Kansas City in the playoffs. IN Kansas City. You think Titan's fans aren't regretting that decision? This isn't about Mariota anyway, it's about a stop gap while we replace our quarterback. Because you can put the '85 Bears around Derek Carr, and it's not going to make his liabilities as a player go away.
Titans fans don't miss Mariota. The Chiefs beat themselves against the Titans in KC.
I don't want to watch Mariota, period. I don't like to lose.

One good thing is with Big Ben and Brady retiring Carrbage jumps up 2 spots. May actually be top 10 for a season

The President of the United States can only be reelected once and only serve an 8 year term. Giving Carr another year is unconstitutional to winning imo

Maby one of the guys that gets drafted in 2022 will make leaps up the rankings. Carr has had his "best days" it's only downhill from here....
Hopefully the Raiders draft a QB in 2022...

.
Building off your thoughts here.
Best way to look at it is: has he done enough to warrant an extension?
With a board so divided the answers aren't easy so I'll pose the questions I put out a while back that those who are pro-Carr had no answer for?
Is it his W/L record in 2021? We've repeatedly told us wins are a team stat (unless its come from behind wins and then we get carpet bombed spammed in multiple threads as a remainder when they happen). Can't be that?
Making the playoffs? The team carried him to the playoffs over the last 4-5 games, not the other way around. Aren't wins a team thing anyway? See above.
Stats? Yardage is great. Other than that? Pedestrian at best for a 8 year QB. Let alone comparing him to the 2 Qbs in our division that are better.
TDs: 23 in 2021 which is about his average (average over 8 years for him is around 24). That's entirely replaceable and certainly at the money we are paying him. Earlier I compared Carr vs Mac Jones. Here's a pickle:
Carr- 25 million a season, 23 TDs, that's about 1.08m per TD pass if I do my math right.
Jones?
Jones- 15 million a season, 22 TDs, that's about $708,470 per TD pass.
If Carr were higher on his TD counts it wouldn't be as bad, but it can't all be explained away be his receivers. By all accounts Renfrow and Waller are pretty good. Also for those that take exception about Waller in 2021? I'd let this on go... because if we look at Carr's previous seasons? He has three season where he got higher than 27 with 32 being his most in 2015. And his receivers in 2015 when he had his higehst total of TD passes in a season were who exactly? (Hint: Streater, Holmes and Roberts). The other 5 seasons he was 24 or lower. Simply put, his TD pass output doesn't match his contract, especially since he doesn't run for TDs either.
Turnovers. 27 total turnovers. I know people want to get picky on this one, but fact is yes, he did turn the ball over that many times. The important number for some is 22 which reflects those fumbles that were actually lost.
2021
27 Total Turnovers:
14 INTs
13 Fumbles total, 8 lost, 5 recovered
So I guess, great? He barely had more TDs than actual lost turnovers? All that does is distract from the fact he is a turnover and especially fumbling machine.

Unless I'm missing something I'm not sure where people are getting 19 from what I've seen posted here.
Taken in totality and back to your point? I don't see that he has done anything to warrant an extension. Or if he has? Certainly not at what he is being paid relative to his production.

Now that Ziegler is GM and McDaniels is head coach, the first thing I want to see is what they decide to do with Carr.
Will they extend him?
Force him to play out his contract?
Or trade him?
Whatever it is they decide to do with Carr, will show their vision of the Raiders future.

There's a tweet out there on how McDaniels won the HC job and it was about impressing MD on how he would win with Carr so all of you guys hoping for a trade can probably forget about it
