So then please tell me what the argument is? Why would they want to get rid of him then. The argument is the same with every single one. The team is good enough. Carr needs XYZ. WE would be a playoff teams with out him. He can't win. A QB needs to carry teams to victory. He chokes in December. Am I missing any? Sure sounds like every Carr haters argument.
Nice try.
So in other words not every Carr "hater" thinks the same in your view, but in reality is some sort of generalization(s) that you've built up irrespective or whether they may be true or false or what they may actually believe.
Oh and by the way, what you listed is called criticisms, of which there are plenty of for Carr and this entire organization for that matter.
Honestly, there is nothing wrong with that as well.
A team just needs top 5-10 talent around a middle of the pack QB, and a top 5 defense. I feel that is even true for elite QBs 9 out of 10 times as well, though top 10 becomes the minimum then imo.
The ability to do that while paying 15% of our cap or more on one guy approaches zero very quickly. Noone has ever done it, ever. Brady would not be sitting on as many SuperBowls if he was paid what the market would pay imo, that cap matters.
A middle of the pack rookie contract (Not as hard as it sounds) plus 25+ million in cap is simply a better recipe for success. Proven via results and actual Lombardi trophies in the salary cap era. Tons of rookie contract QBs losing SuperBowls lately also, which cannot be discounted. They got there.
It took Carr two years in the same system to even break top 20 when Gruden arrived (Per coaches and execs), rookies can do that. If noone exists this year - trade for capital next year and roll the dice then (What we should have done before Gruden swung on a bunch of foul balls in the draft).
Honestly, I am not sure I even want Wilson. Even he needed a top 3 defense to win it all on a rookie contract and he is making a ton now. The league really has a sad understanding of salary cap football if you ask me.
Paying a QB that money absolutely requires drafting rookies in other positions that outplay their contract multiple times over. Aka blind luck.
Wish I could like this post more than once. In fact I unliked it, and then liked it again just so I could do so. /s
All kidding aside I'm not even sure Wilson would want to come here. Step into this shit show or go to Miami, Pittsburgh or Denver. Hell even New Orleans? I'm sure playing for Payton would be a draw to any QB of some skill. EDIT: And yes I could see Carr going there.

I hope Mark Davis hires the right head coach, if he hires a bum head coach Raiders are going to be a 4-12 team for years to come. Jerad Mayo has an interview this the Raiders and might be strong candidate to bring back the losing Raiders.

As hard as I am on him, they have a team and front office that could get it done with a QB like Carr. I do like Carr the person and would like to see him get a legitimate shot at it.
We are multiple years and a ton of lucky draft picks from a top 10 offense and defense imo. In other words if we sign Carr, we are going nowhere for a long long time and Carr will go nowhere right along with us imo.
We are nowhere near a 'SuperBowl window' - so why pay the rent on an expensive house we don't need. The neighborhood isn't worth it.

This will depend on what the new GM and coach want. I'm OK keeping Carr for another year and seeing what happens. I am also OK trading him if we can get a Stafford type haul (or close to it). I'm not on favor of giving him a huge extension at this time. Those huge money deals for non elite qbs do not work out. I like Carr and think he can lead a team in the right situation but he is not elite nor worth 35+ million
get over the Carr hater shit. It is not hating Carr, it is wanting the team to win. If we get hot on a rookie who hits, we get 5 years of cheap QB play that is good and get to use millions on other positions. It is basic economics, spend less for one guy and you get to spend more on a bunch of others. Carr is overpriced at 35M per for the production. You take a chance and you get a Herbert at best on the cheap so you can load up around him.
Very few hate Carr, they just see the value is less than the going price.
We did WIN and made the PLAYOFFS!

SPOT ON
Tonight I've accepted the fact that the reason for me lobbying for DC is because we've been so quarterback poor since Gannon. I 100% agree Carr isn't a big money QB. The turnovers are where he shits the bed with me. Although they're not all his fault,. He's had happy feet since the broken leg. It's become painfully obvious he doesn't have it, compared to winning QBs his stats don't lie..

Carr is probably a great friend, neighbor, husband, father, son, brother - not everyone is a great NFL QB. Almost nobody is.
The challenge, of course, is what's next?

It was brutal between Gannon and Carr. I was a big supporter until the end of 2017. But at this point I’m ready to move on and wander in the wilderness again. It’s not a reality I’m happy with but it is what it is.

That said he's not gonna take us anywhere special. He's convinced me of that. We are 4-13 again. Fantastic. Thankfully when they left Oakland for Vegas I decided to quit making Sundays about the Raiders and just take what they do on any given Sunday with a great of salt.. And so far the curse of Las Vegas is in full effect. What a shitshow.
Call it what you like. I think this is a great forum. I find that there are a lot of well informed posts each day, some I agree with and others I do not. But, hey that is what a forum is for - to hear a variety of opinions and to discuss those opinions. Plus, there are some that are quite witty and can express their ideas in an entertaining fashion. And one gets the chance to reply and participate....and it is free.
Not sure what to tell you, not everyone is going to think like you or share your opinion. Just a fact that you need to accept.
A variety of opinions would be nice. So would a variety of topics. Everything here is the same

Pro Carr, Anti Carr or in the middle. He's under contract for 2022. So why would anyone wanna give him an extension now. At the very least make him play under the last year of his contract. He's not sitting out....
I'm ready to move on & try & trade him. But I can live another year with him if the new GM & HC think that's a good idea. What's not a good idea is extending him now when you don't have to....
Right now the main thing is getting new quality GM & HC spots....
