So if Care wins Sunday night and the first playoff game we don't have to hear how much he sucks anymore?
maybe, depends on how he plays. Dilfer won a SB but still was a mediocre QB

But then again, I guess it would be time to remind all the Carr guys that they were always shouting that it is a team sport and wins are not a QB stat LOL

kidding, again, it would depend on how he plays.
I hope he plays like a man on fire too. If he goes Joe Flacco in the playoffs then we can talk about him having a long term spot on this roster. I just don’t think he’s earned the benefit of the doubt yet. It seems that’s a bit much for some people to handle.
He hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt, and really does need to play like he is trying to prove something, or i can't see us coming out on top.

I couldn't watch the Colts game, but by all accounts he did not play that way, and somehow we won. In my mind, he has to play better against the Chargers for us to have a chance in this one.
So if Care wins Sunday night and the first playoff game we don't have to hear how much he sucks anymore?
I don't think it's that simple. We beat the Colts and Carr's performance didn't convince me he is the long term answer. In my mind there is a scenario where you win a wildcard game and still draft his replacement next year. It might just buy him a year or two with the franchise tag.

All that being said, like someone else mentioned. If he goes full Joe Flacco and wins us a superbowl by all means, pay the man. You can't put a price tag on a Lombardi.

3 TDs and 6 turnovers in our last three from boy wonder. Which is, I imagine why the Colts game did not change many minds.

Hell, Bortles made an AFC championship game. Those games it was very clear the QB was an anchor as well. Dalton had similar turnover numbers in his playoff 'must win' games and the Bengals accomplished nothing, at all.

Some guys are just losers. It appears Carr is that - even beyond his record he always comes up small in big games.

I hope he can put together an actual solid performance on Sunday Night. He has yet to do that on the teams win streak. Honestly, he has yet to do that even once in his career with the playoffs in sight. I don't expect it to start now.

Show me I am wrong Derek. Can you?
A top 15 QB that crumbles in big games - is not a top 15 QB worth keeping.

* If dude lights it up and we lose, that is on the team. If by some miracle Cinderella finally dons his glass slippers this season and shows up to play, I will 100% give him credit for that - win or lose.

These last three have been terrible from him.
During his life Carr has achieved much and is absolutely not a "loser". On the football field for the Raiders he has very rarely even been in the position of playing in an especially "big" game, and never a playoff game. The Raiders best move is to see how the team performs Sunday and if they make the playoffs, great. And Carr is under contract for the 2022 season as well, so no need to make a decision about the QB position until a year from now.

What has he actually achieved? 2 winning seasons at Fresno State, 2 winning seasons at the pro level. Leading the league in come back wins? If that is what you want to hang your hat on, be my guest.

But he is in a position to put that all aside, and I hope he does, but his track record has not been good, and yes, he has had big games both at the college level and now the pros and has never really stepped up. Two Bowl games in college where Fresno State got clobbered, 2017 with essentially the same roster he receeded and frankly Carr himself looked terrible that year and a lot of those games would be considered "big games" since he was a preseason favorite for MVP.

Like I said, I am pulling for us, but your statement flies in the face of reality.

I am actually not sure why you are posting such things, your answer makes no sense in the context of this place.
I was addressing the previous post where someone wrote that Carr was a "loser".
Yes, he is the QB that holds the title for the most losses in his first 8 years.

Yes, he plays terrible in big games and the team has to carry him to victory (if they can).

He is, in this sport, the definition of a loser. Literally the Anti Joe Montana, he takes big games and turns in his worst performances of the year.

Make no mistake, this is not the first year this team has been in the playoff picture. Each of the last three have been destroyed by (among other things) a 'cold weather', 'late season', terrible Derek Carr.

We all saw the Jets game, the Browns game, the Seahawk game, etc... over these last few years after 'hot' starts. 31st ranked offense over the final 7 games in '19, maybe that rings a bell?

Carr plays his worst when we need him the most. I hope he can remove head from ass, but facts are facts.

* I could care less about his personal life, that is for fans of Carr to care about - those that put the player above the team. I am not one of those guys.

He gets yet another shot at it Sunday. Does he play like Dalton or does he step up?

Sunday Night Spotlights, playoffs on the line, let's see it. I will be the first to congratulate him if he puts in a good game. Win or lose.
