Well I don’t sit in NFL war rooms so I doubt I could provide factual evidence.

You’re free to use the internet.

I do remember a tweet stating 2 1st rounders. Since the niners traded 3 1st rounders, plus more for Lance & then the Bears trading 2 1st rounders, plus more for Fields, it’s completely rational to think 2 firsts were offered as unknown guys are getting more than that.
I think the bridge between the recollection of someone tweeting some crap and supported speculation would be the 9th wonder of the world and much more so to span the incredible distance to fact as was certainly implied and very arguably flatly asserted.

Carr is what he is. Capable of elite throws. Mentally average. Play is all over the board. Balm placement is still generally bad. Great on the throw to renfrow at the end. Horrible on the underthrown pick down the side line. Another game with more picks than TDs. He’a replaceable most of the time. Many other qbs could be scoring the points or more that he is right now with this offense.
carr is not horrible, just the most polarizing qb the raiders have seen since marc wilson

definitely not a ~30M/year guy - i'd be comfortable with spreading those resources instead for [a] mad maxx contract extension speed #1 wr and [c] more help on the o/d lines
Is what it is. On his best days he’s around #9-10, on his worst #20-24 or thereabouts.

Today he was in the middle perhaps towards 20s.

Future? I’m on record we are going with him next year so it’s academic IMO.

Somehow we are winning despite Carr's turnovers...shout out to the D, but that doesn't translate to the playoffs if we make it!
What we've seen from Carr since we were 5-2 is who Carr is. It's by far the most consistent thing about him. After playing well early, there's a huge regression to average and even below average. Today was the first time we scored more than 17 points since Thanksgiving.

If Carr wants to stay on for about $8 million per year, we should keep him. If not, then we can find someone else who puts up at least same point production as Carr for that price (or even less).

We'd save anywhere from $10-20 million per year, which could be used to sign both offensive and defensive players. I'd prefer we have a top 5 D and a tough running game. We don't need to pretend Derek Carr is worth $30+ million per year, which would prevent us from improving the rest of the team.
Im not convinced the drop off is all on Carr. IMO....the loss of Ruggs/ Waller and Gruden have played a pretty significant role in offensive production. Carr certainly hasnt been great....but the lack of a game plan and 2 of his key weapons has been pretty critical in the decline.

However I also think we have been very stagnant and predictable on offense....which has been amplified by not having some critical playmakers.

Seems like 2 per game yet team is winning despite his errors. Won't fly doing that in playoffs if we get there
I could possibly see that if not for the previous 2 seasons looking the same.
Last year the offense remained top 10ish in scoring all year.....the defense went from bad to really bad....giving up an average of 30 points a game. This year the offense has dropped off and the defense is playing better.
