In one sentence you wanted Carr to be part owner and called Brady a moron. You do you booSloth_Fratelli wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 5:09 am Yeah our current head coach got the most out of Derek who suited up for 95% of his games until his final year..wish Derek was part owner instead of this moron who can’t self scout his Precious Patriots. “Speed doesn’t matter” Tom Brady, maybe check out the Chiefs or ya know the best offense your Patriots ever had

fernando is not a doll ,dudes a warrior see vs ohio state and even miami ...kid thrives once punched in the mouth, get him into the game so he can learn and grow from experienceOpoponax50 wrote: Mon Jul 13, 2026 5:26 pm Starting Cousins is a no-brainer.
As has been said many times here, let Cousins take the lumps from the likely growing pains the O-line is going to go through.
We can't wait until everything's perfect for Mendoza, but we can hope to minimize getting him hurt and destroying his confidence. No matter what, he's going to experience adversity, but there's no sense in making things more adverse than they need to be.
As for which authority to listen to in that article, I"ll go with Brady. His experience and knowledge of what it means to be an NFL quarterback far outweighs anything anyone else says.

Doug Pederson?...Other than obviously pimping for some sort of attention, what exactly is he doing today?Sloth_Fratelli wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 5:10 am And Pederson is clearly right. The guy also had great success as a coach & is a former quarterback himself. Just hope Kubiak gets to make the decision

fernando is a warrior...see vs ohio state and miami when he was getting punched in the mouth and under pressure all game long and elevated his game to victoryELCAraiderfan wrote: Wed Jul 15, 2026 11:33 am "wants to get punched in the mouth"....."wants to get punched in the mouth"

No quarterback "want to get punched in the mouth". I know I always preferred to throw from a clean, unhurried pocket.

Yes, I'm sure that prior to every game, Fernando says to himself "Man, I sure hope I get my lip bloodied, because if that happens we're sure to win".mstrbass2000 wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 6:57 am fernando is not a doll ,dudes a warrior see vs ohio state and even miami ...kid thrives once punched in the mouth, get him into the game so he can learn and grow from experience

i guaranty fernando is not rolled up in a ball in the corner hoping he doesn't get contact...thats not what winner do and fernando is a winner as proven by vs ohio state and miami where he was getting punched in the mouth and under pressure on more then 50% of the playsraidersince63 wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 7:01 am Yes, I'm sure that prior to every game, Fernando says to himself "Man, I sure hope I get my lip bloodied, because if that happens we're sure to win".![]()

I love that you are milking "punched in the mouth" for all it's worth!mstrbass2000 wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 7:08 am i guaranty fernando is not rolled up in a ball in the corner hoping he doesn't get contact...thats not what winner do and fernando is a winner as proven by vs ohio state and miami where he was getting punched in the mouth and under pressure on more then 50% of the plays
Is he a competitor? Yes.
Will he wilt? We don't think so.
Does he thrive in this? We'll see in the NFL, he did great in college.
So does he like being punched in the mouth? The debate continues.

Please...so using your pretzel logic, Mendoza only wins games in which he is "punched in the mouth".mstrbass2000 wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 7:08 am i guaranty fernando is not rolled up in a ball in the corner hoping he doesn't get contact...thats not what winner do and fernando is a winner as proven by vs ohio state and miami where he was getting punched in the mouth and under pressure on more then 50% of the plays

I tend to agree with Pedersen. However I don't think a few games of Cousins will hurt Mendoza one bit, and it might help him. I definitely want to see Mendoza get enough playing time in 2026 to prepare him for 2027. IMO our best case scenario is being around .500 so failing to get Mendoza a bunch of starts is a bad plan.Sloth_Fratelli wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 5:10 am And Pederson is clearly right. I do agree though that it should be Kubiak making the decision. For now I don't think the depth chart is important. There may also be a plan behind the scenes among coaches to elevate Mendoza earlier than they are publicly saying they might. It's ok if they have a strategy of keeping their true plan under wraps, because you don't want to elevate him and have him struggle and then ultimately demote him. It's better to keep him at the #3 spot for now and then at some point elevate him without notice. The kid is the future and he'll be learning and working his ass off regardless.
Based on how the roster is constructed right now, I'd be really happy with 4 games of Cousins and then Mendoza after that. I don't expect we'll be undefeated after 4 games. We're unlikely to be better than 2-2, and hovering at or below .500 with Cousins would be an unsatisfying season that doesn't point us to the future.

fernando plays to win, fernando thrives under pressure and learns. this kid is no pussy whom folds under pressure, so the quicker he gets intot he game the better

the point im making is you guys wanna sit him to protect him and im saying the kid is a winner and will thrive under pressure, not wiltSkullCrusher wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 7:32 am I love that you are milking "punched in the mouth" for all it's worth!

the more experience he gets, the better he will get. so sitting him for games is dumb if the reason is to protect him

I don't see Cousins getting benched unless he plays poor. As long as Cousins plays well, I don't see Mendoza starting until they are mathematically eliminated.chucker wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2026 8:03 am Based on how the roster is constructed right now, I'd be really happy with 4 games of Cousins and then Mendoza after that.
