Offense looked good. Defense could use some work. Always good to get a win. Thoughts?

Don't olinemen usually play 100% of the offensive snaps? So I'm not sure what depth has to do with it.Ghoul wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 5:05 pm Jeanty and oline looked tired in the 4th quarter. Offensive line is very thin, there is almost no depth to it, so it would be unreasonable to demand full game of excellent performance...
Still, I anticipated short dumpoffs to RBs, short passes designed to eat the clock, but then I remembered that this is not a Jon Gruden's team anymore. That guy would never force two consecutive long passes in the 4th while up by 2 scores, twice.
Risky, not conservative playcalling: i hope this is not because Kubiak's playbook is thin.
Don't think his playbook is thin. He's been in the league a long time and we've seen success at his stops. Even new Orleans when they were decimated with injuries. I just think cousins arm isn't what it used to be and he trusted it too much instead of taking the more safe throwsGhoul wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 5:05 pm Jeanty and oline looked tired in the 4th quarter. 100% agree with the Jeanty mileage part. I was getting frustrated watching him get stuffed and racking up hits when the game was mostly secured.mranquales wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 5:28 pm PROS:
-Klint Kubiak is the best coach the Raiders have had since 2000 Gruden.
-If nothing else, Mendoza watching a veteran who knows how to run the offense smoothly in a live game can be good for him-- to an extent.
-Haven't in my lifetime seen the Raiders look this prepared and methodically do away with a team they were supposed to beat.
-It's official: Ashton Jeanty IS generational at the RB position. He's the new Marshall Faulk.
-Linderbaum was worth every penny, the offensive line looks day and night different with him leading and Jeanty was able to knife right up the gut all game.
-All of our receivers are reliable. Willing blockers, decent route runners, consistent hands. No superstars, no divas, just everyone do their jobs.
-Futu needs to be a starter.
-Kwity Paye looks to be a GREAT signing. He's way more talented than we all thought. He went from looking like a stopgap to being a threat at EDGE. After week 1 we arguably have a top 5 EDGE tandem in Maxx and Paye. Yeah, he was that good. He could threaten Linderbaum for best FA acquisition.
-The Raiders won the FA sweepstakes with Paye, Linderbaum, Quay, and Dean.
-Quay Walker quietly clamped the TE and RBs in the passing game.
-If Dean stays healthy, we have a solid LB core for the first time in decades.
-Stukes is looking like the right choice for starting FS.
-Stop the run, win the game!
CONS:
-Kirk Cousins threw for around 150 yards in a win against a bottom 5 team, and 50 yards was to Jeanty. Maybe Brock can add another 75 yards to that but that's not going to be enough for a playoff berth.
-Kirk Cousins threw 2 interceptions against a bottom 5 team. Doesn't bode well for the future, especially considering both throws weren't necessary.
-Malik Wilis had more yards passing and less interceptions, and he's unproven.
-It's obvious the offense was designed for Brock Bowers to be our #1 receiver. I fear it's going to be too much for Jeanty without Bowers there to take half the load off.
-Mike Washington should get ALL the "chew clock" carries. Stop messing up Jeanty's average when he shouldn't even be out there. Let him rest.
-The Raiders defense held their own, but they haven't really been tested yet.
Mrs Mranquales, thank you for taking your husband’s computer and posting something we can all mostly agree on.mranquales wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 5:28 pm PROS:
