the haves and have nots remain far apart (billions) everytime a team moves and gets a new stadium the value goes up a lotRabidraider wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 1:09 pm When you look at a team, you see 53 players, a nice stadium, concessions and parking, TV contracts and merchandise.
You have to think all teams have to be close in these numbers and not 100s of millions apart.
So what's the difference between an Ohio team and Vegas or Dallas etc?
Ability to generate long term revenue. And some teams can do it far better than others.Rabidraider wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 1:09 pm When you look at a team, you see 53 players, a nice stadium, ticket sales, concessions and parking, TV contracts and merchandise.

Define long term revenue.Attyla wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 1:13 pm Ability to generate long term revenue. And some teams can do it far better than others.
I don't see how the building changes the huge difference in valuation. Raiders building is owned by Las Vegas Sports authority. And that cost was 2 billion.mstrbass2000 wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 1:12 pm the haves and have nots remain far apart (billions) everytime a team moves and gets a new stadium the value goes up a lot
Well, many teams are owned by families so they are an asset that is generational. I think that is a reasonable answer.
Far cry from the days in Oakland, the Raiders had no control over the venue except for the 10 days they had games. They paid rent upwards of 7M dollars.Rabidraider wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 1:20 pm I don't see how the building changes the huge difference in valuation. It's a guess because they can't tell for sure what billionaires may do. Whoever is at the bottom could sell next week for a record breaking amount and you know what that does?. It bumps every team up above that in the current same order Dallas #1, Raiders #3, just at more fictional dollars.Rabidraider wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 1:09 pm When you look at a team, you see 53 players, a nice stadium, ticket sales, concessions and parking, TV contracts and merchandise.

The CAP keeps that spending close...
TV contracts nationally are the same...
Concessions can't be a billion dollar difference...
Ticket sales could be worth a lot, but still not account for the huge difference in valuations...
